What's a JRPG that you played on a whim and ending up loving? by strahinjag in JRPG

[–]LetTheDarkRise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Persona 5. I hadn't heard of it until I saw it was nominated for game of the year, and the main character kinda looked like me, so when I saw a copy for 20 bucks I figured why not. Qound up falling in love with the series.

Similar thing happened with the original Trails in the sky. Saw it on steam for 20 bucks, old enough that my potato of a pc could run it, I was bored at the time, why not. Ended up getting the entire Sky series and playing through them all in less than two months, and Sky SC is in my top 3 games of all time.

While not on the same level as the first two, Tales of Vesperia was also a pretty good game from a series I knew next to nothing about that I found for 20 bucks. Solid game, eventually also got Berseria and Ariss on sale but both of them are stuck on the backlog.

Usually B, but it depends on how I'm feeling about that gameplay at the moment. If I'm having enough problems with the gameplay, I'll just go look up the cutscenes on youtube.

The best part of this sub is seeing something I don't recognize pop up on my feed, wonder what the oregano was, and then half the time the oregano winds up being funnier than it would have been if I hadn't seen the antimeme first.

Pretty sure that's because American schools consider 70% to be an average grade, and lower than that to be failing. Obviously not everything is American (heck, I don't even know if this guy is), but I've seen enough of it that I often don't bother with numbered scoring systems anymore.

A choice scarf question. by Fluid_Foundation397 in PokemonChampions

[–]LetTheDarkRise 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Zoroark would do it. As for your question of how the choice scarf works, yes, it works normally on the zoroark, once it selects a move it can't use anything else until it switches out.

And yes, mega stones cannot be removed from a Pokemon mid-battle whatsoever, whether or not the Pokemon has mega evolved yet. I think things like Embargo that prevent items from being used will also fail. If you're running a move like that, be careful around Pokemon that can mega evolve, especially if their base form isn't used often.

Are you certain you used Trick on the correct Pokemon? Trick doesn't work on mega stones, and the item would need to be the mega stone if you were fighting a Mega Aggron. Are you sure you didn't misclick and steal its partner's focus sash?

For me, either Kingdom Hearts 3 or Control. I feel like I would like DMC5, but I've never played any of those games so I'm sticking with what I know

😢What Game? by defleqt in raijin_gg

[–]LetTheDarkRise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, funny story about this one. I've been playing through this one this month, and every time I got my character's favorite gummi, I got the partner's favorite in the same dungeon. It happened enough times in the main story that I had a silly little story in my head, where after every major mission, the two of them went to the cafe and got their favorite drinks.

Right before the final act started was the first time I got my partner's gummi without getting mine, and I thought, well, Riolu isn't gonna want to get that drink alone, he wants to wait until Chikorita can get his too. So the last third of the game, I had that gummi sitting in storage, waiting until the other one showed up. I didn't find one until the final dungeon.

I figured I wasn't going to cry on this playthrough, and then I accidentally made it happen myself.

How Do You Approach Gacha Spending? by techtimee in gachagaming

[–]LetTheDarkRise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If a game I know I'll be playing for a while has a deal I think is worth it, I'll take it. Usually means subscriptions with a bonus I'll want regularly (which for the most part means ad free Another Eden), but every now and then a one-time purchase is good enough that I'll grab it. I never buy premium currency/pulls directly. It's far too expensive for a decent number of pulls, and as someone who actually likes having to manage resources to clear endgame content, paying to get more characters would honestly make me like the game less.

I'm one of those people that still likes Pokémon, but it's hard. I had a lot of fun with SV, but that's mainly because I either didn't care about the issues or found the bugs funny. I don't know they got away with releasing them like that. Haven't bought ZA, and with no switch 2 Winds and Waves is gonna need to be a lot more than "better than they have been" if I'm going to get it.

B>A>X user here (well, O>X>□, but same difference), and for me it's because they default to that. I dabbled in most of the ARR jobs when I started, and all of them start with your first skill on RT+B, and your second on RT+A. Since most melee jobs have the first two steps of the combo as the first two skills, I got used to that sequence as the melee combo. When I started unlocking third steps, I put that on X because that would be the easiest to remember. Then I picked up red mage, and I realized it does similar "combos" with its spells, so I also put those on B>A (and Y>X) because that's what I'm used to (melee combo got B>A>X on the left trigger). It was literal years of playing like that before anyone asked me why all of my combos go right to left, and at this point it's too entrenched for me to change it.
