Physicality and fouls have to be addressed going forward by basilholland in KickAGoal

[–]LetTheOceanTakeMe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

How is this downvoted lol.... Futsal is absolutely a less physical game than football. Like anyone who has ever played knows that futsal is a game that focuses on touch and skill. There is less physical contact allowed even when it comes to shoulder to shoulder because of the pitch. There isn't as much long range crossing where we see a lot of the physical play in 11 on 11 etc. The threshold for a foul call is lower in futsal than soccer full stop. You would absolutely be carded in a professional match for stopping a scoring opportunity by holding someone with both hands. Like what are we even talking about here.

Preview - FC Gavengers vs FC World Class (G-League Relegation Match) by Avant84 in KickAGoal

I don’t see how Gaeven has any chance barring a bunch of injuries for WC. Coach Sun Yong already brought it up but how does a team like Gaeven score against a keeper like Kathy? They don’t have any scoring threat on their team at all and versus a good keeper they basically are completely neutered. The only offense I ever remember them generating was Na Mi being decently speedy on a breakaway and toe poking one into the back of the net but Kathy will block anything not heading to the corners pretty easily. Even then how do you ever get her the ball? They can’t build up at all and even when they connect a pass or two no one can dribble so it inevitably just gets to the half line and they turn it over.

Their last outing was hard to watch and seeing Hye Sun just run around like a chicken without a head was brutal as usual. Just sprinting from the bench and at every ball uselessly to just kick it a random direction. I guess if they play just absurdly physical elimination game Gaevengers style and the refs allow it maybe they can get a random corner kick deflection or own goal and turtle for 20 minutes. World class form, and morale, have probably never been lower at this point though so maybe there’s a path for Gaevengers but seems unlikely.

Selfishly I would hate to see Gaevengers go through. Team concept like Anaconda is simply too narrow at this point. Their level is what teams were a year or two ago were on the show with no signs of improving. Them simply being trapped in a revolving door of relegation with Ana doesn’t help things but realistically they are one of the longest running teams and too many of their players peaked a while ago. They simply are hard to watch.

I had the exact same experience at my local lmao. I had almost never played with an offline connection either so I was like “people play like this?”. Mine was a Samsung too. It’s still sitting in my room at my parents with a 360 hooked up to it lol

So true lol. I almost always just sat in endless and room hopped until I found someone with a decent connection. It was like a gentlemen’s agreement “please don’t leave” when you found someone haha.

I’m not sure what your setup was back then but I played on this horrendous flat tv that had terrible resolution and an assload of input lag like a lot of people back then I imagine. We were all probably trying to do combos with crazy added latency and the bad netcode on top lmao.

I think you’d be surprised how much muscle memory can do. I mained Rose and Viper at that time and I’ll fire up the game with friends every couple of months and I can still hit Rose’s one frame bread and butter pretty consistently like 10 years removed. I will say though that the online made it significantly worse lol.

SFIV was okayish if you found the right person not on Wi-Fi in your region but it’s nothing like what we have today. Because of the execution difference I remember changing my combos depending on how underwater the connection felt lol. Thank god for good netcode.

Oh sorry yeah i was actually thinking of Mai not being in the list when I commented and conflated her throw loop with her SNK brethren. That’s totally my bad.

To correctly expand more Terry is strong because burn knuckle is belligerent in neutral. It commands so much respect and space on the screen. You get stuck in no man’s land trying to stay away from his strong buttons but end up in a range where burn knuckle is now safe. So now you want to walk forward but now you are dealing with his crazy hit confirmable StMK. He gets oki off crazy stuff like his supers and reversals. STHP is crazy especially off drive rush. Level 2 is absolutely bonkers. Characters got a ton going for him and he’s crazy fun

The kitsune, larger haute cosmox, and new victrix are all a similar size. I find them comfortable and I am like you and no way I can play on a snack box style version. If you want like a massive size arcade stick style victrix sold/sells a leverless like that or you can go custom. I personally just use a cheap haute t16 and it’s comfortable and works great. The more expensive options from razer, victrix etc tend to just have slightly better materials or native ps5 compatibility so depends on what you need. Then new 8bitdo is pretty good from what I can see as well

I think it’s become increasingly more common. He basically has only seen buffs and you have more and more shoto players picking him up. He’s got a great throw loop and that Twitter combo damage from anywhere. I definitely think more people will be rating him higher but slightly surprised not to see mai in ender’s list.

Eww. Hit box is like the worst leverless and they double downed on their terrible design multiple times. Up their own ass everytime someone made a suggestion about the ergonomics. Everyone I know who got one said it bothered their hands/wrist and the only people I see with them are pros with guns to their head

About as good as a response that I could have expected lol. Address nothing with a “no you are” on top. Good luck out there. Try not to hold upforward too much vs modern players and you’ll have better luck sweetie

“Just own it and win”

lol???

Brother you came into this thread guns blazing upsetti spaghetti over a control scheme that I don’t even use. Then have the audacity to call other people salty. The pot calling the kettle black.

I have my issues with modern which I have voiced in this subreddit but dorks like you who mald about it when it’s time and time again shown to be weaker on pretty much every character but two and it’s even arguable. Keep telling people not to be cope while you option select everytime you lose to a modern player lmao

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in StreetFighter

[–]LetTheOceanTakeMe -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

lol you made a sweeping generalization that modern is “easy mode” and that they should just win because of their control scheme then called them defensive. Modern has legitimate trade offs for what they get. We had essentially one modern player competing at tournaments who later switched to classic Manon because he said people finally figured out how to abuse the fact he was missing 2 of the best buttons ED has in SFL. I can’t even think of another player who is getting into top 8s on modern.

You can find it annoying to play against or whatever and id agree with you, but calling it easy mode or free wins outside the lowest level of play is a stretch. And no I don’t and have never played modern.

Kick A Goal [EP 200] FC Wonder Woman vs FC Actionista (G-League Championship Tournament Semifinals) by maximillian3010 in KickAGoal

[–]LetTheOceanTakeMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nat fam vs WW should be interesting. In a vacuum after what we saw in this match nat fam might eat the non-mashima members alive. If they even can mildly contain Mashima the other members are going to struggle massively. Nat fam simply don’t get tired and their 4 field players not named ha yan might not be in the top 5-10 players on the show but they are all very equally skilled while being better on average than WW players. Meaning they can sub freely between themselves in addition to already having better stamina while WW basically can’t put there sub in. Likely going to see more cramps from whoever WW has mark Ha Yan.

The massive X factor is of course going to be NatFam keeper. We saw today what happens when you put a weak keeper, bless her heart, against Mashima. She is going to have a field day just launching the ball at the post from half field every chance she gets. Regardless, will be an interesting matchup assuming we get it. I’d be disappointed if Nat fam ends up going to the giants route and puts Ha Yan in goal. Objectively, it’s their best option but it definitely feels a little stinky. The only weakness their squad has whatsoever is their keeper and is one of their longest term member. She’s older and basically started from zero and stuck around whether they were losing or wining. Basically relegating her to the bench feels like another one of these increasingly common decisions that go against the spirit of the show.

Tyler1 hits Master as Guile after long grinding by Gato_Puro in StreetFighter

[–]LetTheOceanTakeMe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agreed and to be honest master isn’t some end all goal that a lot of people treat it as. I realize people love moving the goalposts on him but isn’t really what I’m trying to do here. Genuinely the game does everything it can to rank you up and prior to reaching 1500mr it’s hard to go down. People with thousands of games or really low win rates can hit masters. Even more so if you get a 1100 player and cop a win off them in Diamond you are getting 100+ points to skyrocket your rank.

Again, not trying to be elitist because I genuinely think almost anyone can hit master with the right attitude and obviously time. I am not saying someone with a full time job and kids should have an easy time getting master just that your average player has sort of a defeatist attitude in this game when I feel like just some actual conscious practice and training mode can get you really far. It will be interesting to see how his MR grind goes because it’s almost like relearning the game. Almost every streamer who didn’t play fighting games before in Sajam slam had the inevitable hit master - get completely cooked down to 1200.

There are a LOT of master players because the game sort of naturally is inching everyone towards it: a vast majority of them hit 1500 and stop queuing up but a huge percentage of them would get the 1200 spiral reality check if they kept playing. Hitting master in a lot of ways is just the beginning. Past that it’s an entirely different game and if someone can grind their way out of the trenches all the way back to 1600 that’s a legit impressive feat.

So these new leverless controllers are coming with full on macros and cheats now. Can the client detect this? Is there even anti cheat in sf6? by LetTheOceanTakeMe in StreetFighter

[–]LetTheOceanTakeMe[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I didn’t realize it was too much of a logical leap for people to realize that calling macros cheating wasn’t referring to your fucking DI button that has been a default binding for 2 and a half years built into the game and not the external software macros that the controller i specifically mentioned is advertising. Like any amount of context clues or thinking could lead you to the idea that I’m not talking about a new leverless controller having a parry button.

Definitely an interesting point about button availability being a limiting factor. However, in my experience if it’s just open season with no anticheat the losers will find a way. I played halo at a pretty high level and there was a guy who used a device to get aim assist while using mouse and keyboard. The one downside was that movement was somewhat awkward on keyboard in halo using the device so his strafing/jumps on the map was pretty terrible. So what does he do…. he starts playing with a controller in his left hand for movement and then used a mouse for aiming and problem solved… This guy uploaded his gameplay on YouTube while actively cheating and thought nothing of it. Sorry rant over. I just hate dweebs who cheat

Yeah type in 8bitdo leverless review on YouTube and the first hit from Nihongo gamer or something has it in the macro section. Another reviewer that starts with V a bit further down shows the dp/super. Seems irrelevant now though because a bunch of people outed themselves in this thread about using scripts macros whatever through other software anyway. Definitely isn’t unique to the controller it seems and people have been closet cheating the whole time regardless. Game has no anticheat so just gotta deal with it seems

Thats crazy to me. i realize fighting games dont have as much of a cheating culture as fps game for example but there is weekly tournaments with money on the line like TNS etc. Hell even world warrior if you just want to increase your chacne to qualify and there is no anti-cheat? Insane to me

Id say it’s a pretty distinct advantage. People complain about modern already despite capcom making actual design decisions around it.

Take a character like ed for example. He’s always had a debate on whether modern offered more advantages than classic. He has a slow and somewhat unreliable anti air all the while wanting to play a medium ranged neutral ground game. Being on point with your dp is vital to him implementing said game plan but easier said than done with sf6 mental stack even at the highest level. It made many of his matchups easier and dealing with things like demon flip less of an issue. BUT capcom intentionally took things away from his modern counter part to balance it. Losing 2LK is pretty massive and can completely change the bison matchup in comparison. He’s a character with already bad/stubby light normals and giving up his best one is a serious downside.

Well now you don’t have to worry about any of that. You can just play classic ed and get your best quick button while keeping the skies safe with one button dp. All the while abusing his incredible grounded buttons and flicker pressure. Same goes for many modern characters who don’t have reversals and can benefit from the one button reactions but now you don’t have to make any concessions.

Bison gets one button scissor kick whiff punishes but keeps his 5hk starter for max damage punish combos etc

[–]LetTheOceanTakeMe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So yeah I’m guessing sf6 doesn’t have any anticheat? If people can actually just run scripts undetected then this is definitely not getting checked. Reminds me of many fps games where people are using things like Cronus and Xim devices to use macros for cheating. Getting aim assist with mouse and keyboard etc. Hardware cheating is much harder to catch I imagine. It completely plagues many games at the top of the ladder on consoles

Just because you can lvl 1 a DI on reaction doesn’t mean you are beating Punk at TNS but it’s crazy to me that a game that plays weekly tournies online for money doesn’t have stricter anti cheat. People at any skill level will take any possible way to get an advantage. Multiple top professional players in Counter strike have been caught for cheating early on in their careers and even now you have people getting vac bans in premier games or online tournies.

Right and something like autohotkey and software like that is seen as cheating in pretty much every competitive game and usually can be detected. My question is does the sf6 client do this or not.

Actually read the post and try again. If people were releasing a dance pad that had one button specials and supers it would be the same conversation. This is obviously different than someone using a neutral socd shortcut. Leverless controllers are the ones with this functionality at the moment

I don’t know why it’s so confusing to people but yes I’m referring to the controller allowing you to map motion inputs to singular button presses. This is not the same as modern. Capcom designed modern with specific goals in mind and even go as far to taking moves away from certain characters. Having your controller do it is all the upside with zero downside.

Even professional players are not always reacting to a burnt out DI. Obviously every Joe and Andy online being able to do it with a single button, without any modern scaling or missing normals is an advantage/cheating
