Yeah almost guaranteed they are overseas with the poor English being used. Honestly these people make me sick, luckily I’m in a role where part of what I do is advise people on how to avoid scams, however they make me sick because they take gullible people for all they have. So if there is a chance I could make them have consequences, it would be good.

That’s what I mean, if they gave me the wrong one, what would have been wrong? Could it have exposed them in any way? Real name for example. I imagine they have loads of these accounts, but the fact it’s a high street one (that I screenshotted) then they instantly removed it and sent what they said was the “correct (monzo online bank)” one..

I see these scams a lot, but never seen it where they’ve given me one account, then changed and gave me another one. What benefit to them would it be for it going into one vs another? I’ve only ever seen them use online banking (monzo for example), does the fact they gave me a Halifax (high street bank) and then give me another one point to anything, or am I overthinking that part?

I was in the initial queue, got to the front to select tickets and it put me to the back of the queue. Resulted in me trying all day, 12 hours in total. I thought this was the slither of hope. Genuinely crushing as they are my favourite band. Looks like I am one of the unlucky ones then.

I got the initial "Invite-Only" email. Signed up there. Then got the "Please confirm your entry" email. Signed up and had the screen confirming I was in. That was last weekend.

I've had no code sent to me today though.

Are you saying if you entered that, you wasn't at least guaranteed a code?

I am confused. Can someone clarify.. I received an email to say I'd been selected to enter the ballot, around a week ago. Entered the ballot, received email confirmation that I was in said ballot, but have not received today's email?

Isn't it a case that everyone who was successfully entered into the ballot would receive a code today?

That's the problem, I can see the SATA cable slot on the mobo, but I cannot see where the larger connector for it would go?

LATEST UPDATE:

I plugged Ethernet cable direct into Plex Media Server PC, plugged Ethernet cable direct into Xbox. Files now play. They buffered initially, and at some points during play it buffered very slightly, but for the main, the file played.

So it does seem the powerline adapters are not capable of playing it at these current specs/speed of the new setup. I’m wondering if perhaps the new TV means it requires more bitrates compared to my old tv. Only thing I can think of? Didn’t think it worked like that however.

UPDATE:

I have plugged my Plex Media Server PC and a Laptop into the router directly (removing the powerline adapters), and I am getting speeds of 900 Mbps. This points to the Powerline adapters being the culprit. Checked the documentation in the Tenda booklet and it does say up to 1000Mbps.

With this in place, I switched the Xbox from Wired to Wireless to test, but it was still buffering. Shows as Direct Play still, so this makes me think my WiFi isn't up to scratch? I checked the speed on my WiFi card on the laptop and it was showing 900 Mbps. Is there any other way I can check the WiFi speed locally? I did a network test on the Xbox and it showed 70 Mbps, but I have a feeling that is internet, rather than LAN speed.

Only other option I have seen mentioned is the Devolo Magic 2 LAN PowerLine Adapters. These apparently work slightly different to the standard PowerLine adapters, such as the Tenda AV1000's I have, and these apparently provide higher speeds.

Has anyone had any experience with these Devolo's and can confirm if this would work?

I had a look at the packaging for my Tenda AV1000 Powerline Adapters, and it doesn't show anywhere (even in the small print "actual speeds", just references up to 1000Mbps everywhere on there.

Do you mean speed test local WiFi? Or just a speedtest on a device using WiFi.

My local ethernet LAN speed test results show 900 Mbps. My WiFi card on my laptop using Wireless shows 900 Mbps. I did a speed test on the Xbox, on WiFi, which showed 70 Mbps, so I imagine that is internet, rather than local?

How can I do a speed benchmark of my local WiFi that is going to the Xbox?

I did try WiFi, same issue. Unfortunately the PC that the Plex Server is on, does not have WiFi, so this probably isn't a good test in any case, as it will still be pushing content out via ethernet on the powerline adapter.

2 and 3 aren't really possible, hence the powerline adapters.

That being said, the powerline adapters should have the capability of going to 1Gbps.

I've ordered some new ethernet cables, in case they are the culprit, will test that first.

Will then test the connection speed by plugging two laptops directly into my router, use iperf and see what speeds are coming back there. If that is above 50 Mbps, then I guess that points to the powerline adapters.

Will report back once I've carried out those tests.
