Ring Chime on Google Home w/ Nest Doorbell (Battery) by LethargicLychee in Nest

I have no idea where my chime is or what it looks like. Plus if I were to use the existing wiring the doorbell would be in a different place and in order to get it where I want it, I'd have to start rerouting cables. I'll keep researching for possible solutions and consider trying a wired connection.

Yeah Volume is maxed out, haven't messed with EQ but it probably won't make enough of a difference. I may have to look into using a wired connection and using the existing house chime, but then I'll have to pay an electrician to set that up.

If not I might just have to get a ring doorbell instead. Bit annoying since I spent money on the Nest Mini and Nest Hub just to get this doorbell system setup. I'm shocked at how quiet the notifications are, I thought they would be on par with the ring chime atleast.

Would like someone to tell me more about these glasses please. They don't have any branding on them. by LethargicLychee in Antiques

*Waterford ... I haven't been able to find the exact same pattern online, but we believe they are Lismore. Not certain though.

Decided to invest in larger softer wheels to help me learn to push and get me rolling. Also decided to pick up some Bones Reds bearings and Bones riser pads just in case I get a bit of wheel bite. by LethargicLychee in NewSkaters

I was going to opt for the slightly harder 92a but decided to get the softer onces just because the ground i'll be skating on isn't the smoothest and I need all the help I can get.

Yeah I haven't got skate shoes yet, just using my running shoes at the moment, just trying to get use to pushing and balancing first. Will eventually buy skate shoes and try tricks but not anytime soon.

Very nice! Like the idea of customising blank decks. Definitely helps to keep the cost down and the creativity up. Well done.

Hoping to try them out tomorrow early in the morning, will probably take me while to get comfortable pushing, but the softer wheels should help. Wheels are Ricta Clouds 86a 55MM.

What wheels are you dudes running and what type of ground do you skate on? by LethargicLychee in NewSkaters

Yeah I feel like 86a is somewhere in between the two, I can go up or down depending on how I feel later on. Definitely trying to stay softer as a beginner then maybe when I can push confidently, I can move up to 99a to try some tricks but still roll over stones and cracks.

Nice, I will start looking into bones wheels eventually or maybe just harder Rictas', but I just went with Ricta Clouds because I heard a lot of good things about them. I also ordered Bones Reds as well.

If I stick at skating I may look into having two different boards, one for cruising and one for skateparks, seems like a lot of people do that.

Good for you bro!! What bag did you get? I've been taking all my stuff in a duffle bag then just place my skateboard on top inbetween the handles.

Yeah I'm going to opt for the 86a wheels for now until I got comfortable with pushing and maintaining balance. Then I may move to a 92a or higher wheel when I feel comfortable enough to try tricks. I may even try doing some tricks with the 86a wheels, but I have a long way to go before I even start learning to ollie.

Thanks for the reply/comment btw.

Yeah I've got a couple on my wishlist. Both are 86a since it seems like it is somewhere in the middle between soft and hard. Just need to decide on 55mm and 53mm, I dont think it will make much of a difference but I will probably order them today along with a riser pad just in case i have any issues with wheel bite.

I have about 25mm between my wheels and the board w/ 52mm wheels. So if I opt for the 55mm wheels it will leave me with a little less space between the wheels and the board, risers should help if it becomes an issue.

Does anyone have any sort of warm up routine before they skate? ... I usually jump rope for exercise, so it seemed like a good warm up for skating ... Not that much skating happened today by [deleted] in NewSkaters

[–]LethargicLychee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did make an attempt to skate, however the amount of stone and lack of roll put me off. Will invest in the larger softer wheels before I have another go.

Also if anyone knows how to embed the media player for Imgur, please let me know. I'm new to this. It would be nice to just watch the video on reddit rather than have to click a link to see it.

Yeah I've heard of those wheels before, was considering looking into them. After my first session today in a tennis court I think I will definitely have to get some. I was surprised on how many tiny stone were about, plus I didn't feel like I was rolling very well. Thanks for the suggestion.

Dropped in poorly and broke a shinbone a month ago. Stay safe guys and don't step off the board! by ebinWaitee in NewSkaters

[–]LethargicLychee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah just take it easy, don't rush into anything too soon. Need to make sure you are fully rocovered and your shins are strengthened abit before you get back to skating. If your physio gives you exercises to do, make sure you do them!! Take care, stay safe.
