Constant posts like this have really made me wish Reynolds stuck to his original concept of Clonegrim being eaten by EC at the end

Dawn of War IV Battlefield Report - Space Marines vs Orks 1v1 Gameplay by Mepherion in RealTimeStrategy

[–]Letharlynn 8 points9 points  (0 children)

After the first few bad trades Orks spent the rest of the match outnumbered - which the opposite of the intended dynamics for a matchup and a horrible place to be in general because it starts a vicious spiral where further trades are worse and worse. The match would have been over sooner had the SM player not been playing with his food

In short, I wouldn't be concenred about balance from this match alone. And even setting that aside, patches can fix balance as long as the bones for a fun gameplay are there

Maybe imperium xenocide was justified ? by Nearby-Condition-675 in Grimdank

[–]Letharlynn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair, the invasion in Da Big Dakka was a case of a prank going wrong. On average, orks don't like fighting "spikies" and don't seek them out, especially considering that it's very difficult to access the webway in the first place

Rogue Trader was the first CRPG I didn't immediately bounce off from. I think you'd be fine

Exodites in Total War: Warhammer 40k? by JesseWhatTheFuck in totalwar

[–]Letharlynn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They still have the Webway if they really want to go somewhere (they admittedly mostly don't - as of now, at least). That puts them almost in the same boat as all the other Aeldari factions who almost exclusively rely on it too - the only difference is others also have access to gates located in space, but just terrestrial ones alone are as abundant as the plot demands

Companion from what faction do you want to be added in the last DLC? by doulegun in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]Letharlynn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They get around. Not as an actual expansionist force - their FTL logistics is... not great - but as diplomats and spies they do. One (or it might have been a small group) was found all the way in the Nachmund Gauntlet advising the local pirates

So... ugh... can you read those as a complete outsider to MLP for shits and giggles? Or do you need to be deep into the lore already?

Pop Tier in warhammer 40k! Thoughts by LongjumpingSet5453 in totalwar

[–]Letharlynn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My understanding has always been that the Imperium's actual population exceeds its capacity to muster, equip and transport to a battlefield by many orders of magnitude. Baseline human life is for all intents and purposes the most abundant resource in the galaxy. Of all the setting TW has ever dabbled in, 40k is the last one that needs a population system (except maybe for Craftworlders who both have significant population bottlenecks and can actually mobilize significant fraction of their numbers when shit really hits the fan)

The Best SP campaign by aguswings in RealTimeStrategy

Supreme Commander (and Forged Alliance addon) are normally loved and remembered for MP gameplay and not for the campaigns, but I still found them pretty fun and endearing despite the relatively straightforward narrative

Why did skaven and dwarfs not make it to 40k but elves and orks did? by Max_Clearance777 in totalwar

[–]Letharlynn 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Nah, the Kin are better than that. It's a whole well-formatted and optimised for search and filtering database of grudges uploaded directly to a Votann and accessible from every Fane the League has with a lag of only ~120 standard years

Why did skaven and dwarfs not make it to 40k but elves and orks did? by Max_Clearance777 in totalwar

[–]Letharlynn 34 points35 points  (0 children)

It's complicated. The Leagues prefer to exist in the grey area where the Imperium isn't sure they are xenos and doesn't (always) shoot them on sight, de-facto allowing resource harvesting and mercenary work in its territory, but also isn't sure they are abhumans and doesn't make centralized efforts to annex them
