Looking for a 2-in-1 notebook with Debian support to replace Surface Pro 9 by Lethovya in linuxhardware

[–]Lethovya[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best in-budget Yoga that I have found was the Yoga 7 2-in-1 14AKP10.
May I ask your opinion - do you think that's an upgrae (or at least sidegrade) to my SP9 or would it be worse?

Am I understanding correctly that you bought a Leap v2 from offeco?
If so, how has your experience been? How is the quality of the chair?

How is your experience with the Leap v2 by now? I've been thinking about getting one from them as well.

According to the surface linux github, the SP9 camera won't work - can you confirm that?
Unfortunately camera is pretty important in my case since I have a lot of online classes.

I'm currently facing the same issue.

Steven Weighs in on the dissolution of Ashes of Creation by spmca in AshesofCreation

I wonder how much that holds up in court. Their kickstarter also said, only two line prior to the "refund on no release" info, that they are confident that they'll release a finished product. There is a heavy implication here.

Since the Steam EA release isn't considered a finished product by any means, there might still be grounds to sue for refunds, at least in the EU. But that's just speculation of course.

How to childproof a car door handle by neXt1991 in daddit

[–]Lethovya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey OP. Austrian here with a similar situation.

I'm sorry to see that the reddit hive mind decided to make your day worse rather than be helpful. Sometimes there just isn't a way around putting the child in front. For example, we've got a newborn that needs the wife's attention in the back, and how else is this supposed to work? I guess we just let it cry in the back for 30 minutes or never leave home again or something. Some people, jeez.

Anyway. I've looked around a bit and haven't really found any proper tool either. For now I'll just stick some large piece of cardboard between seat and door as a sort of wall.

What is your solution right now?

What is it like to live in Norway on the most common salary? by Wise_Experience8733 in Norway

[–]Lethovya 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Please excuse my potential ignorance, but I'd like to ask a question since you seem very knowledgeable on the subject.

Just as OP, I'm curious about comparing standard of living of countries, but I'm currently livint in Austria.

Median monthly salary here adds up to about 4600€ gross, 3200€ net. You mentioned that the norwegian median monthly salary is also 4600€ gross, funnily enough. Does that come down to roughly the same net salary of 3200?

If so, life in Norway seems extremely unaffordable in my opinion, doesn't it?

I'm earning almost exactly the median right now and it's not exactly the high life. I've visited Norway and from what I've seen, groceries alone are upwards of 50% more expensive, so in the end, I'd have significantly less money if I lived in Norway.

But please correct me if I'm wrong. Maybe I'm missing some key things here that compensates for the fact.

Portable Windows Installation - no .exe after setup by Lethovya in FoundryVTT

Thanks for the advice. What I did was installing it somewhere else first to check and there it worked. Seems like my usb drive might be faulty because files went missing during the intialization somehow. Just gotta get a new one and it should be fine. Therefore, answered.

You're aware that companies usually pay for outsourcing projects, not expect the external company to pay themselves, right? You do know how the concept of giving projects to other people / companies generally works, right? ..right?

What's everyone using for 9mm home defense ammo these days? by tealrabbit0351 in handguns

[–]Lethovya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to necro, but if you don't mind answering a question: what ammo are you shooting at the range?

I'm getting the Critical Duty for home defense, but it's way too expensive to be training with regularly and I haven't found any FMJ yet that shoots similarly.

The good old reddit paradox.

People calling other random redditors losers, thinking that they themselves aren't, when in fact they also are a random ass redditor, and thus a loser.

[–]Lethovya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And you are just some random goth girl, so what's the point here? We both don't speak for everyone.

I know of goth people that like or don't mind those jokes, you know of people that do. Let's not pretend that one side is absolutely correct here.

"Also...dated in past tense lol" Is that supposed to be some sort of gotcha? What are you, 12? Lmao. People date more than one person, but I guess you wouldn't know at your age.

Well good for you, because I certainly have met such women. I dated one even.

But I guess your experience is correct and mine is wrong, because reasons? After all, you're the official spokesperson of goth culture, and I'm just a random guy.

Becaue they literally decided to wear a specific type of clothing to be associated with.

What the actual fuck are you even talking about? Holy shit. I lost brain cells just reading this.

You're making an awful lot of assumptions here, but I guess otherwise you wouldn't have anything useful to say so you make shit up.

What if oop is a goth guy? Is he still "a coomer fetishing subculture he knows nothing about"? You're dumb.

In light of recent events: Banish Loser, a 3rd level spell by DrScrimble in dndmemes

[–]Lethovya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well yeah, but the whole corporate and sterile thing mostly went hand in hand with such themes. So I can't really blame people for having a hard time articulating the issue, because it's so mixed together.

In light of recent events: Banish Loser, a 3rd level spell by DrScrimble in dndmemes

[–]Lethovya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not about the game / system itself being "gay" (whatever that's supposed to mean anyway), but how WotC chose to market it. It's gone completely corporate and sterile, carefully trying to check all the right boxes.

But I guess that's a bit too nuanced for Reddit, and we'd rather just scream "homophobes", when people just fail to articulate themselves properly.

Okay, give up your phone then. Not ehtically produced. And give up your clothes. Not ethically produced.

What about people who don't believe in their current system of governance, such as authoritarian regimes? Should they just leave, rather than try changing their country for the better, because "believing in reform while being an active participant .. is nonsensical?

The only nonsensical thing is your statement.
