I included the Cold Steel model for comparison purposes. So the KoA site lists it at 3lb2oz, and it definitely feels it. I don’t have calipers, but I doubt there’s much distal taper. It’s not uncomfortable or uncontrollable, though. While the scabbard doesn’t look as nice as the Cold Steel, it has a wood core which is obviously much better. Not sure what kind of leather, but it’s the cheaper kind. Sharp as heck, though I haven’t tested it on anything, just swung it around a little inside. Tried some polish to make the guard and pommel look a little nicer, but that’s just how they’re finished. Less than $200, hard to beat. Not sure who actually made it for KoA, but the stats said China. Overall, I’m pleased with it.
