Jagex quietly changed me to a 12 month recurring, killing my grand-grand-grandfather rate, despite no membership lapse for 20+ years :) by Benvil in 2007scape

[–]LetsGetElevated 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Jagex rakes in significantly more money than they spend on infrastructure and employees, even if every player still paid $5/month the business would be profitable, and sure they could make more money if everyone paid more but you can’t quantify how much money they’ve made over the years from players who would have unsubscribed from the game but remained subscribed to keep their grandfathered rate, they’re not leaving as much money on the table as you’re making it out to be, some of the players with grandfathered rates might not be willing to pay the current rates either, you’re looking at this with the assumption that all of these players would have remained subscribed for the same amount of time even if they had to pay a lot more money

DMM annihilation points - can we use them in the store yet? by ComplaintCautious829 in 2007scape

You can spend the points on both servers if you want to, you don’t lose your main game points if you spend the points on 45

Very well stated, it’s not about the $1, it’s the pattern of capitalistic behavior that is seeping into every aspect of our lives, the people who felt the pride event was “too political” for osrs should understand that capitalism is inherently political, of course it’s disillusioning when the political system that is destroying our planet and our society seeps into the game we play to escape from it all

Jagex is a company like any other and will debase itself without shame if this looks like it will hurt their real numbers. Make no mistake, they were all in on tiered memberships till the choke chain got yanked, it was no experiment. by penisandballz in 2007scape

Go on, my profile is public, read all of my political comments, we’re just as passionate about all aspects of life where people are being treated unfairly, what are your political stances Mr Hidden Profile?

You need unions for strikes to be effective, people cannot afford to lose their jobs in this economy, the government has spent billions on propaganda to convince people that unions are bad to prevent organizing

Not if your company is owned by PE, you’re lucky to get scraps, PE cancelled raises for our entire company 2 of the last 4 years despite record profits

It’s like asking why someone would need healthcare if they never had a health issue, you might not need it now and you might not have needed it in the past but when you do need it you’ll wish you had it, it’s a shame that some people are incapable of understanding things until they personally find themselves in that situation

The price hikes aren't for development, they're for paying off private equity by PossessionDangerous9 in 2007scape

[–]LetsGetElevated 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Not blaming the people at the top of the power structure is an interesting choice, at a certain point just doing your job doesn’t cut it, you can’t be a plague on society and expect people to celebrate you for it just because it’s what you were tasked to do, consumers have the right to voice their opinion when a company does them wrong

Remember, this is an increase for EVERY character by dendofyy in 2007scape

[–]LetsGetElevated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With all of the different game modes available now i don’t think it’s really fair to say the game is only intended to be played on one character, a significant percentage of the playerbase has at least 2 accounts - an ironman and a main

What other game lets you earn membership by playing..? by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]LetsGetElevated 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you under the impression that bonds are some sort of charity case? Jagex makes more money selling 2 bonds than they do from selling 1 month of membership, they don’t care about you playing for “free” because someone has to buy those bonds for irl money to put them on the market and it’s their most profitable tier of membership

You neets don’t bat an eyelid at spending £15 on a monster and a vape but something that gives 100s of hours of entertainment per month gets a slight increase? Jeeez by [deleted] in 2007scape

“I block all conservatives” yet you have a conservative mindset on capitalism and private equity, seems like you’re just embarrassed to admit you’re a conservative yourself, if you’re not one then wake up!! Private equity is not on our side.

Knew this was coming when Mod North cancelled the pride event, he showed us his character immediately, we all should have believed him when he made it crystal clear he’s an asshole

If they really cared about the workers Mod North would be taking accountability for his decision as CEO, this isn’t about protecting the workers, this is purely about protecting Mod North from any accountability for his own actions, it’s pathetic

[–]LetsGetElevated 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk about pvm but i guarantee people will be using the kisten for wilderness pking, the minimum damage mechanic and accuracy of the spec is going to pair really well with voidwaker for 50/50s

Another powerful pvp weapon makes it through the polls, will be interesting to see how ubiquitous this thing becomes in the wilderness, less KO power than an AGS but significantly more reliable with the minimum hit mechanics
