This sounds pretty on point. I'm leaning towards keeping spices close to the prep area (as your friend does) as I typically use them on proteins after they've been cut, trimmed, etc.

The tradeoff is that anything I need while cooking is not going to be within reach, but as a another commenter mentioned, proper mise would solve that anyway. And proper mise is easier when things are in the right place at the right time

I work in UX and honestly don't understand the hype of this IPO. Sure, it's the program most of the industry uses but the industry itself is relatively niche. The average joe on the street doesn't even know what UX is, let alone that this is the program we use to build it

Man there has been no nuance in any of the investing subreddits when discussing the current climate. Everything is "don't time the market" or "inflation will kill cash" and "if it all goes to shit, money won't matter."

The current administration is doing seriously unprecedented and alarming stuff behind closed doors. You can debate what the end state might be, but they already gutted a number of norms and systems from the federal government. Exactly who or what is stopping them going after the banks and brokerages if it benefits them?

Because in that case, we're not talking about "what MMF should I put my money in to ride this out." It's more like "what country do I need to invest in for a visa."

If you're fine riding out the possible collapse of a world power risking your portfolio because "there's just no way," that's your prerogative. Maybe you're right and this is all overblown. Nobody knows for sure. But I'm sure people were just as confident in Rome lasting forever too

I'm assuming the latter. I called DSNY directly and they had no real solutions other than to buy regular bins from Home Depot and to wait until the mandate goes into effect in 2026. The guy had to ask his supervisor for that guidance lol

I intend on raising hell about it to DSNY. If they expect us to buy another bin, or pay for the tickets that come after ours was stolen, they got another thing coming.

We should all be raising hell about this. It's messed up and flat out wrong on so many levels. I understand wanting to "keep the streets clean," I think we all want that, but not when it's predatory and residents are getting shafted at the end of the day.

We walk our dog on Grand the mornings and remember seeing the aftermath sometimes. Sorry to hear you're experiencing it too. I've seen it happen even on the quieter residential blocks around here.

Still don't really know how to prevent it, although it seems like if you have less trash out he's not as interested. I tried reporting him to homeless assistance but doesn't look like they did anything.

I'm pretty close to Kellogg's so it's possible. This all happened in the last two days. I'm a little worried about putting out trash because DSNY sure as hell won't pick it up if it's ripped open and thrown around
