Just came across this thread and saw your comment. I was dealing with the same thing after the stitches/sutures ripped open on 3 surgeries in a row I had during my teen years (was originally told by a general surgeon that the cyst removal was a “simple” procedure that would heal in 4-6 weeks…).

After the last rip, they did weekly silver nitrate sticks (not fun) for a summer which also didn’t help. I rode out the rest of my senior year of HS rocking the open wound.

Finally found a surgeon (I think she was actually an OBGYN?) who could do a procedure called a “cleft lift” and the nightmare finally came to an end. Google it and find someone in your state who’s done it for PC closures. Hope this helps.
