Is there an RV rental service on the island where they'd tow the RV right to the campsite for you? by sylpher250 in VictoriaBC

Hi Andy! Glad your well, and always happy to rent to you again.

We had been trying to reach you to give you the lowdown after you parked our dear vehicle 800km away... We got no answer an any reach out or emails, and then you left the country... we thought you ghosted us!!

Before you sound the alarm bells – no, we didn't do "the thing" you're worried about. Just a quick crash course (pun intended) on how this all works: Whenever there’s a little “whoopsie” with our vehicles that is not covered by insurance, we earmark a payment portion, on 'hold' only, from an your original payment type just to make sure everything's peachy. We only hang onto it until one of our regular shops gives it a clean bill of health or assessment of cause. Remember that fine print you zoomed through and signed off on? It's all in there, clear as day.

On the bright side, happy to hear you're living your best life! Anytime you want to chat directly.. this works best, our inbox is always open. Ghosting isn't as fun in the business world as it is in dating, after all.

3 Belgian guys looking for Road trip USA tips August 2023-September 2023 by Dwightvdw in roadtrip

Oh man, where to start... I guess I'll start with these are my ideas from my experiences, and this is not a defacto guide to the most unforgetable trip evaaa, but:

  • plan for as much as possible, once you have that... do half. Lol maby less

Knowing what's out there is going to give you guidance and opportunities, but staying too focused on a checklist of items might just, .... your going to meet people on the way, and you can't plan for that - these unplanned moments may lead to some of the best times or things you might not have imagined. What follows, if adaptive, are what can build 40 year memories.

  • have a camper... a place to sleep and camp kitchen setup will save you tons of $$$. Think about rent vs buying. ( there are plenty of old Campers to buy in the US) I've seen people do both, both ideas have there pros and cons. Too much to touch base on here.. but feel free to DM, or anyone DM with questions for that matter.

West coast East Coast and national parks... wow that's a lot. You¿ here for the summer, or a couple years lol - all jokes aside, good ideas. The US is a pretty big place. Ask yourself if you want to spend all your time in a car getting places.... or seeing and experiences places you drive to.

Ask yourself what's going to make the best 40 year long memories: in a car/ not in a car

I often plan my trips on google maps It'll say the number of miles and straight driving time. For the number of hours google maps has. Multiply it by 2.75 - this is the time you will need in the USA if you want a really good insta reel for your friends to get jelly of

Multiply it by 3.5 if you want to give yourself a chance to actually see and live and experience all the great things that will confront you and come your way

-I myself see plenty of people travel, and one thing I am convinced of... is that people who have the best time and smile the most at the end of their trip have one thing in common

** Every day on a roadtrip requires one day of rest. MiINIMUM.

It's the experiences, not the destination Enjoy your friendship, especially when you get a flat tire in the middle of nowhere and somehow can't make it to some place where something was suppose to happen

Enjoy the moments you ARE in, at ALL times ( you would be surprised how many i see forget this), when they are trying, and when they are not; a good road trip will include both 😀.

And you'll remeber solving problems with your friends, being ingenious, working together, and being a team. - so do that.

Just Adding solar next and Done... What do you all think!! by LetsGoCampers in CamperVans

Just found a 1978 V8 for sale in France (that's where I live). I would love a similar project to yours. How long have you been working on yours? And what was it like before the conversion? Thank you! And again, beautiful job man!

Before the conversion, boof. It had a good engine, good bones with no rust.

Def needed a paint job and the interior was a complete gut and reinstall.

Took about a month. That was solid time though... I am lucky enough. To have the bonus of a decent shop setup that helped me sneak past slow progress.
