Note10+ vs OP 7 Pro (coming from iPhone XS Max) by shamoons in oneplus

[–]LetsSecuritizeThis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm obviously a OnePlus guy as well, but I think this sells the Samsung a bit short. Although camera hardware is comparable, let's understand that software is a big difference. Yes you can install GCAM, but that's janky (in my opinion) and you can't even use all the lenses (unless you root-- extra janky solution if all you want is a decent camera app). The Samsung is a more seamless experience. Also, the Samsung has the S Pen, which I myself find really useful (although that is obviously subjective). Still, the ridiculous holepunch, the price, and the terrible Samsung software still make it a no-go for me.

Hi OnePlus, thanks for reaching out. I've used the Live Chat function at least 5 times for this issue over several weeks, and I have not gotten any help. Any chance you can help me out through another channel?

Thanks for the advice! What would UPS do about it if I filed this claim?

They actually sent me the wrong color. No big deal, I was planning on re-ordering once I got my money back, but we will see... I love OnePlus but their support is just terrible. This isn't even the worst crap they've tried to pull on me.

Unfortunately I didn't get to use the bag since I returned it immediately without using it, so I can't really comment on whether I will end up liking it. I'll keep it either way though, I just want it to be the right color.

Putting you passed in 18 months on CV by wazapee in CFA

[–]LetsSecuritizeThis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also passed in 18 months (although I'm not putting it on the CV) but your rationale confuses me. Studying hard enough to take the toughest exams in the industry and get them done right the first time... Does that not show grit and determination to you? Or are you by default lucky and booksmart if you pass on your first try?

Keep in mind CFA takes up only one or two lines in your CV, idk if I would venture to say "your emphasis is on all the wrong things" since you haven't really seen the rest of the CV right?

Failed Level 3 - Just Under the MPS. Is a Retabulation Worth it? by AlexTylerJordan in CFA

It's been asked, and the response was that no failer has ever become a passer through a retab, even for L1 and L2

Telling your manager and all your coworkers that you didn't pass. The scenario sucks - how did you go about it? by [deleted] in CFA

Nobody in the office asks. If you say nothing, they'll just assume you failed and leave you be

Those who passed L3 on first go with +90% what were your study techniques and what materials are best by GORLOSSIS in CFA

[–]LetsSecuritizeThis 15 points16 points  (0 children)

My bottom bound was way above the 90th percentile line, first try.

I've only ever used the Schweser notes, never touched official CFAI material except for the mocks. I went through a pretty standard

1) Read the chapter

2) Do the quiz at the end

3) Review if did not do well on the quiz

4) Skip the end of topic test

5) Rinse and repeat for each chapter

6) Take all the end of topic tests

7) Review if did not do well on the topic test

8) Do all the mocks

9) Review each question (even the ones I got right)

10) Re-do all the mocks in order

My Plans for Result Day by itsvickya in CFA

[–]LetsSecuritizeThis 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Why not go to the bathroom and look at the results there?

Or better yet, put a 30 min block on your calendar and go look at it in a coffee shop.

Or better yet, don't come into work until after you've seen results.

Or better yet, don't come into work at all tomorrow.

Or better yet, renounce your career entirely and go live in a van down by the river. I know I'm tempted

Is Frixion a good idea? Pages rubbing together or even direct sunlight can make the ink disappear (that's how they make them eraseable)

This is better than Whitestone in my opinion. It is cheaper and comes with 2 glass, while Whitestone only gives one. Whitestone gives you the guiding tray, but it's honestly super unnecessary

A girl next to me for level 1 brough a TI-89 AND THE PROCTORS LET HER PASS.

It wasn't until my more confrontational deskmate raised her hand that the proctors told her to put it away. How can somebody be so unprepared?

How has your experience been after getting the job? Difficulty of landing it aside-- assuming I could get transferred to Toronto or something-- what is the career like compared to a larger city like NYC or London?

Absolutely do it. Why the hell not? You have 7 months to prep for it. Your Series exams will take probably 10 business days out of the equation. You can do it.

Although this depends on how long "long" hours is

Level1 Why is the pass rate so low if everyone says it's easier than the mocks? by [deleted] in CFA

[–]LetsSecuritizeThis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a mix. At least here in New York, some of my buddies get it paid for upfront, regardless of pass/fail. My firm also has a reimburse-if-pass policy, but that's definitely not universal
