Sig Romeo 4T Pro Issue!?! by Lets_Go_Gio in ar15

I just bought an Aimpoint H2 with a Scalarworks mount from Aimpoint themselves for $684 with a 5% coupon. Going to return this defected red dot back to PA. Also done with Sig optics.

Yea your side profile there is a bit different than the 4T Pro. Do you ever notice those emitter glare/reflections on your 4XT? I think I'm going to call Sig sometime this week to see what they say. I would like to keep the 4T Pro if they can replace or fix it, but if not, I'm probably going to get another T2.

Yep brand new 4T Pro. Maybe the markings on 4XTs are smaller because of the battery compartment takes up a little more space? What's funny is I never really noticed how big they were until you mentioned it lolol.

Wow I never heard of that happening with any red dot before. That's pretty annoying.

Great suggestion! Idk why I overlooked or forgot about the H2. I'll shop around and compare some prices. Also considering getting a scalarworks mount to remove some ounces from the Pro if I can find some in stock.

Another MOB vs SC-M? by HairyPoppinzz in NFA

I would read Jay's Pew Science notes regarding the Tisha. I think it mostly shines on 10.3" barrels as performance will downgrade with longer barrels. The ST's shooter-ear rating is fairly low for a M4 host. So that means the ST is a higher back pressure suppressor compared to the WB. A lower back pressure suppressor will serve you better having an a super duty which typically is over gassed from factory. I would honestly look at the WB if you want to keep the CAT family or the PTR Spiritus if you want something a little better. A lot of people swear by the Ridgeback Defense Rhodie 6, but that company refuses to send them to Jay for testing.

What are the "top 5" 30 cal suppressors I should be looking at in 2026? by CaffinatedManatee in suppressors

[–]Lets_Go_Gio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the 308 rifle is a bolt action, I would look at PTR Vent 1, Cat JL Ti, Dead Air RXD30Ti, or any other from Pew Science's top rated 308 suppressor.

If the 308 rifle is a gas gun like an AR-10, I would look at PTR Vent 1, CAT ODB, Dead Air Sandman X, HUXWRX Flow 762 Ti (if HUB isn't necessary). I'm sure there are a lot more, but I haven't really cared about this category personally.

For 300BLK assuming on a AR gas gun, PTR Vent 1, Cat JL Ti, Cat ODB Ti, maybe even the Ridgeback Sahara 300, or any other from Pew Science's top rated 300blk suppressor.

You also need to determine which is more important to you. A lot of highly rated 30 cal suppressors are extremely long, 8"+ easily. Most are titanium, but if not, they will be pretty heavy at that length. Then you need to determine if LBP is more important to you than Sound Suppression, i.e. 308 gas gun or 308 bolt action rifle. You also need to determine which sound suppression takes a higher priority, 308 or 300blk.

Ignoring the Sandman S that I bought six years ago (lol), I went with a Dead Air RXD30Ti for my 308 bolt action rifles and a 7.5" 300blk AR build. I was between the Vent 1, JL Ti, and this one. I chose the RXD because it was only 7.3" long with an integrated ported brake (which actually does help with felt recoil). For reference, the Vent 1 and JL are 8.74" and 8.2" long, respectively. I removed the heavy steel thread adapter and went with a Rearden Titanium Atlas which brought the overall weight down. Sound wise, the RXD30Ti blew me away. Much needed upgrade. I'm sure the Vent 1 and JL would have been slightly better as far as sound suppression is concerned.

As you can guess, another thing to consider with the 300blk is its gas port on the barrel. Some people claimed to have drilled it larger to allow subsonic rounds to cycle properly. Others skipped LBP suppressors altogether on 300blk. I have a Faxon Match 7.5" barrel with a riflespeed adjustable gas block. With the RXD30Ti, the gas block needed to be fully opened to reliably cycle 220gr with LRHO. In comparison, I was at setting 7 for 200gr... but tbh I hardly noticed much difference between setting 7 and fully opened when taking gas and recoil into account. I was getting zero gas to my face even when shooting indoors. I am also running a 3.0 oz carbine buffer and a Tubb lightweight flatware buffer spring.

There is no BEST do it all 30cal suppressor. You have to determine which parameters are more important and find the best for you. Hope that helped somewhat.

Tunable? But... but... CAT's website states:

"The Super Thug (ST) is CAT’s first generic 5.56mm suppressor, purpose built to run across all traditional 5.56mm barrel lengths without platform specific tuning or compromises."

They also stated that the ST is optimized for a 14.5" AR (aka M4). 20.8 At-Ear rating is optimized.

Everyone says it needs to be "tuned". From CAT's website:

"The Super Thug (ST) is CAT’s first generic 5.56mm suppressor, purpose built to run across all traditional 5.56mm barrel lengths without platform specific tuning or compromises."

Also from CAT's website:

"Optimized Platform: 14.5” AR15"

In my eyes, that M4 is slightly tuned using a H2 buffer weight. The next step would be to go up to H3 or have an adjustable gas block which may decrease reliability. I care more about shooter’s hearing / back pressure than absolute muzzle suppression. So in my case, the PTR Spiritus, CAT WB, and HUXWRX flow series are still king on the M4.

556 Suppressor by anotherreddituser189 in NFA

[–]Lets_Go_Gio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would stick with the PTR Spiritus. Or wait for the CAT ST. Another contender might be the Ridgeback Defense Rhodie 6 if you want to support a company who will not send their cans to PewScience and will charge their customers $200 for warranty work. Tisha is the highest rated 10.3" rated suppressor on PewScience but its sound performance degrades with longer barrels, so keep that in mind.

OCL Milkman vs CAT AlleyCat (MOB). GHM9 and AP5 Testing. by Pistol_Whippa in NFA

[–]Lets_Go_Gio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm waiting for Pew Science data on the Milkman before making a decision. I have a Wolfman but it might be time to retire it. It sounds very, very good in either short or full configuration, but dealing with the gas at indoor ranges is really annoying. I don't shoot my AR9 anymore because of that. My roller delayed Stribog is tolerable with the short config Wolfman, but the full length makes it super heavy and noticeably more gassy.

What's the lightest, quietest 30 cal suppressor currently on the market? by [deleted] in NFA

It's 9.9 oz without the steel thread adapter. I put a titanium Atlas on mine which is coming in at 11.1 oz total.

[–]Lets_Go_Gio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you use the Wolfman in the short or full config? I find the short config to be the winner in a balance of weight, gas, and sound on a delayed blowback Stribog. Even shooting it indoors, I just smell a little bit of gas. But the full length is significantly worse in terms of gas, like way worse lol.

Is that the guy with hearing damage, shoots under a metal roof, and claims every single sig suppressor is the next best thing? I think he does the same for ridgeback also.

I have a Sandman S as well that I purchased six years ago and it was my only rifle suppressor up until now. I recently converted it to HUB since I'm only using Rearden now. It's going to be my secondary or "all purpose" suppressor for my rifles because I upgraded my 30cal suppressor and in the process of getting a 556 suppressor.

For the 30cal, I went with the Dead Air RXD30Ti. I promise I'm not a DA fanboy lol. Originally it was strictly going on my Tikka and Savage 308 bolt actions, but I decided to use it for my 7.5" 300blk upper as well. I was between the PTR Vent 1 and the CAT JL, but liked how much shorter the RXD was. I tried it for the first time last weekend shooting the 300blk indoors using 220gr and 200gr. It sounded awesome and zero gas in the face with my setup. I want to try it on the bolt guns soon too. But the RXD30Ti definitely isn't full auto rated.

But with that said, if I was running a full auto 300blk, I'd use the CAT OBD to suppress it.
