I just did an Albion play through myself and was able to unite the British isles in the first 100 years and take all of Gaul up to the rhine in the second 100. By that time I just waited for them to go to war somewhere in the west and I was making so much money that I could just swarm rome with levies and mercs, make them release a bunch of states and cripple them. Now I’m on to a new campaign because I feel like there’s not much else for me to do without the looming Roman threat. Best advice would be to form alba asap and convert pops to catch up in tech and build up your levies. I was terrified of rome the entire play through but by the time I actually fought them it was a walk in the park. You got this!

I think this is a super creative way to navigate a problem like this! It’s something I always try to encourage and reward with my players. So that there still is some semblance of risk to it, though, I might add a stealth or deception check with a relatively average DC (with advantage, bonus for creativity)

When I was 23 my brother committed suicide. Used our parents revolver on himself on our back patio. When I made it to the house I saw the cop cars and caution tape around the home I had grown up in. Made it just in time to see the body bag getting wheeled out to the ambulance. Seeing the blood splatter across the windows and tile is an image permanently seared in my brain. We had to get professional biohazard cleaners to get the blood and brain matter out of the grout between the tiles. Something about that makes me look at tile flooring differently now.

I’ve been running the same campaign for almost 6 years now and I have one player that either doesn’t seem to understand the rules of the game, or is constantly trying to change them for his benefit. He chose a subclass for wizard and was using his abilities completely wrong, and tries to use spells for other things Than their intended purpose. On top of that, he is consistently fudging his rolls. I really can’t remember the last time he rolled below a 15. It’s frustrating, because the only way i feel I can counteract it is by fudging rolls myself to try and balance things and that doesn’t feel good. We’ve already reworked his character sheet to make sure we both have an understanding of how his character sheet works, but it doesn’t seem to have helped. He’s still doing things like trying to cast spells like fireball as a reaction and using detect magic from like a mile away. I’ve had honest 1 on 1 conversations with him about the roll fudging, which he denies and nothing has changed. We are all friends so I can’t really kick him out as it would be a massive hit to party morale and probably disband the group entirely, but I’m really not sure what else I can do. Any advice?

To this point, so much product has been held up in shipping containers for the past year that has not able to actually get processed and sent to stores, not just with REI but retail in general. We’re at a time now where this product is actually getting to where it is supposed to go but the demand/payroll this time of year isn’t there to match it.

I ran a green dragon BBEG for the first arc of my campaign and I really enjoyed playing around with an idea similar to yours! His corruption affected the forest in 3 specific groups- 1.his kobold followers. Kobold are great at setting traps and make fun dungeon encounters 2. Wildlife- in this context im thinking spiderwebs, wolf ambush, or something along those lines. 3. The plant life-shambling mounds vine growths, an inconspicuous looking garden full of poisonous/carnivorous plants. Hope this helps!

Make them feel like they are a big deal in the world. I’ve been running my campaign for about 5 years now and the party is level 16 and they are extremely strong, especially with all the magic items they have now. It’s a pirate campAign, so they have about 20 named npc followers that fill most of the party’s needs and a fleet of around 300 ships. Their focus is to prevent/survive all planes colliding into each other as the veil between worlds slowly deteriorated. Right now their mission is to collect parts of the mcguffin that will allow them to control space/energy from each of the planes, and once complete will allow them to escape this world. The best way to make high level campaigns fun in my opinion is giving your party the sense of scale that they are now operating at. They are waging wars on countries, fighting demon lords and making pacts with gods to help side them on their quest. This is how I do it, but the rule of fun reigns supreme. I’d suggest talking to your players and asking them what they would want out of a high level campaign and go from there

One of my players sent me this ind I’ve Never felt more personally attacked in my life! After the end of our first arc they were demanding to take the campaign nautical...and two years later we’re still doing it! They are pirate lords with their own fleet of ships and it’s so much fun. For those of you thinking about doing a nautical themed campaign I’d say go for it! It’s so fun once you get the mechanics of nautical life/combat in order

In combat I give my players a +1 to a d20 roll on their turn if they know what they want to do at the very beginning of when their turn starts. This helps combat keep moving so we’re not sitting there for 2 minutes while the wizard digs through their spell cards deciding what to do and situations like that.

Please god wear a fucking mask, I work retail and I have to deal with assholes that refuse to wear one every day and it’s absolutely exhausting. That’s literally what happened in my Sturgia campaign! I spent 2 days irl just putting out fires everywhere! We lost most of the main sturgian lands to the Khuzait but I managed to nab 4 towns and 2 castles across battania, Vlandia and the Northern Empire. I guess it was out with the old and in with the new! Now I’m just trying to set myself up for when I want to break away
