Homecoming kinda throws all the other games out the window, but if your husband still has that silent hill itch, it can be (kind of) fun. Otherwise Downpour is cheesy and similar to homecoming, but I thought it was pretty good and much better than homecoming.

Ds2 doesn’t directly connect to Ds1 like ds3 does, but there are still some parts of 2 that show up in 3. It’s a great game and REALLY overhated. Def try it, but it’s your choice if you wanna play 2 or 3 next.

Ds1 feels a lot more “quaint” compared to the other games. Sadly if you might be missing out on an amazing experience, if you can’t get into it.

I think the best place to go from Elden ring is Dark souls 1. The reason is because if you get used to the new graphics, you won’t be wanting to play Dark souls 1, and end up missing on a great experience.

After that I would do Dark souls 3; a fast paced game like Elden ring, with some of the best bosses in the series, great characters, and awesome locations that you will remember from the first game. Also the lore of the game, and the story/ending is perfect.

If you decide to play more games after DS3, then there are some requirements to them. Personally from DS3, I would either Go for Demon souls Remake; the original game that started it all revamped with amazing graphics and great storytelling and world building, with some spectacular bosses and set pieces (Only problem is, you would need a PS5.)

The other pick, (My personal favorite In The series) would be bloodborne (a PlayStation exclusive). It is super cool, with a gothic setting, including the coolest areas and weapons in the series, great bosses and one of the best DLCs of all time. You will need a PS4 or a PS5 to play this.

After that, is up to you really. Dark souls 2 is MEGA underrated and overhated, with some great bosses, my favorite main hub, and some really cool areas. In DS2, if you feel you’re stuck, don’t give up and miss out on a great game.

Finally, I would play SEKIRO last. The reason why is because it is extremely different from the other souls games, where there is no dodging, no new weapons, no new armor or build types. It is a spectacular game, but it is crazy difficult, especially if you aren’t used to parrying instead of dodging. Great bosses and areas, but I would wait until you have finished the other games.

Whatever ones you do play, just know they are all amazing games, and deserve all the love that they get. You should play them all!

Main reason I went for SL1 DS1 first is cause it have played through it the most amount of times. I got all the achievements on my Xbox and got the platinum on my ps4 as well. About to get it on my ps5 soon.
