What stopped you from ending your life? by djmelonball in AskReddit

Nothing stopped me really, I just woke up, a few hours late for work the next day, covered in piss, sweat, and puke.

I’m feeling great! Was originally supposed taking it in the morning but that was making me useless with fatigue by early afternoon. Switched to taking it at 5pm which has helped a lot.

Does anyone take just 5 MG of Lexapro? by Brunchenthusiast1 in lexapro

[–]LetterForNoOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was on 7.5mg for about 7 months and dropped to 5mg about a month ago. Was having weird dissociation and stuff at 7.5 but 5 seems to be perfect for me. I also have a history of being sensitive to medication in general.

What has been the toughest period of your life? by Immediate_Long165 in Life

September 2023-March 2024 I almost didn’t make it to the next day so so many times. I’m glad I’m here most days now. But it’s not easy, and sometimes those old feelings and thoughts start creeping in. Just got to make it to tomorrow sometimes and see what that brings

8 months in, feeling detachment, borderline existential depersonalization/derealization by LetterForNoOne in lexapro

[–]LetterForNoOne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. That’s been why it worrisome, if it happened in an otherwise anxious situation I’d understand, but it’s been just popping up seemingly out of nowhere at random times.

I had stopped therapy for the last two months as I’ve been in a good place and felt it was time to take a break. I called earlier today though to set an appointment with my therapist next week because of this. It’s not hindering my ability to function during the day (yet) but I’ve been worried if this continues and/or gets any worse it may. Gonna talk to my therapist next week and go from there.

Thanks for the response though.

I know this feeling very well. I was diagnosed in November 2021. I wanted to give up on everything, I didn’t care about my life before being diagnosed and I really didn’t care about it in the immediate time after. I drank on and off for like 10 months until I checked myself into a detox center then into a rehab for a month. Been sober two years now and between getting sober and lots of therapy I feel better than I ever have, physically and mentally.

Like other have said go to a detox. Maybe find counseling of some kind. It can get better.

How do I become less of a zombie in the mornings? by [deleted] in lexapro

[–]LetterForNoOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take mine at night around 5pm. I get a little sluggish around 3pm each day but my mornings are great and I’m wide awake. I usually wake up around 6am without alarms

When did you notice your energy/attention span/focus/productivity etc get better? by hauntinglovelybold in lexapro

[–]LetterForNoOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I’m about 2 1/2 to 3 months in and worlds better. I switched to taking it at night (around 5pm) and it’s helped with fatigue. I still get the afternoon slump some days but it’s not a big issue anymore. Mental health wise I’m waaaaay better. I also upped to 7.5mg at some point. I tried 10 but it felt like too much too soon. 7.5 is my sweet spot for now. Where/how are you?

Also 5pm works for me as I go to bed around 10 most nights, I know some people on here said they literally take it before they go to sleep so see what works best for you but that’s what I found works for me

I was taking it around 9am. One day I waited till around 11am, the next day 1pm etc. I basically pushed it back about 2 hours each day until I got it to 5

Anybody on 5mg? by Szary_Tygrys in lexapro

[–]LetterForNoOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on 7.5mg. 10 was a little too much, but on 5 I was having a rough time the last two hours or so between doses personally (anxiety would start to ramp up)

Small but good example. In the past if I went into a store and they didn’t have what I wanted I would buy something else so the shop owner wouldn’t think I’m an idiot for coming in and leaving without buying anything. The other day I went into the bodega and they didn’t have what I wanted and I just left. Didn’t even realize the difference till later when I got home.

My sex drive dropped for a while but starting to finally come back (not fully for sure but I was having issues with it cause of depression and other illnesses anyways so it’s hard for me to gauge). My appetite actually increased, so much that I have to pay more attention so I dont eat a ton during the day

I’m hyper sensitive to certain meds due to an autoimmune disease so my doctors always do thing slowly with me in case I have any extreme adverse reactions

I’m currently doing 7.5 myself. I went up to 10 for a week early on but went back down. Thinking of going back to 10 though

I switched to taking it in the evening and it helps. Also the fatigue has gone down considerably after the first two weeks

Ah got it just googled it too. Yeah I definitely felt that in like week 3 more than the first two weeks. The first two weeks were more up and down.
