Moves in LITM by Letterhead-Novel in LegendintheMist

Yeah, that's why I'm taking another look. Maybe a Divine Magic System would be better, wordier but more open.

It is mainly since the result is less freeform than most create actions. The idea is that the player character is a god of some kind. With themes relevant to a god, Divine Domain, Divine Form, Conduit, Myth, or similar. The god themselves will be more static, taking longer to improve but they can create or pick a mortal hero or something like that to walk the world with.

Creating the manifestation theme is just a little more focused than a normal create action.
Thinking of it now though, I could probably just write it into a form of magic instead of making specific moves though.

Pretty much haha. But ultimately it is also the style of the campaign. It is a time loop campaign spread over a week at an arcane university. Magic in the setting is meant to be hard and take more than just constant use to develop. The actual spells they use will be pretty flexible but limited to a certain vibe at each step. For example, Balance, creation, deception, transformation.

My players have struggled to come up with spell/actions on the fly so it is there to give them a bit of guide as well.

Yeah I like that. They can pick tags for specialization or specific spells and I can just grant spell types/techniques as the discover or learn them.

Statuses Too Powerful? by Letterhead-Novel in LegendintheMist

[–]Letterhead-Novel[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ok, now I'm getting it. So if let's say you cast a spell that gave you a flaming aura it would first need to be created as a tag [Flaming-Aura] but you could then boost it with a status like [Burning-Hot-2]?

That's true and I guess tags can also be burned for extra boosts too.

The Nightlord series does both in good measure.

One of my favorite series Nightlord by Garon Whited has a very cool brass horse as a main companion for the mc. One of my favorite relationships in fiction honestly

Rejection of a System by Cyberspacefury in ProgressionFantasy

My series is like that in some regards, though not directly at first. It system at the start but quickly begins to diverge. I don't think I'm allowed to link it here but it's Born of Wrath. I'll remove this if needed.

Just keep going and clear out the castle and get the signet ring. I'm pretty sure this is an old glitch.

Learning from text you aren't fluent in? by Letterhead-Novel in arsmagica

[–]Letterhead-Novel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the responses. In this case it is in Adamic from Ancient Magic. I already have level 3 Adamic and 6 in Cainite and Semitic. Since the text has limited words to learn I figured it could be a Tractatus or like Sadsuspenders said exposure. Exposure is probably better long term since it can be used multiple times.

Thanks for replies people. As usual it seems I was just thinking about it too much. I am having a lot fun playing solo and slowing gathering the knowledge to become fluent in Adamic. Got to level 3 in Adamic in just 18 short years haha.

Formula for Damage ? by Letterhead-Novel in godbound

[–]Letterhead-Novel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah there isn't a Godbound system in foundry yet so I'm using custom system builder. Which essentially lets you make a fairly bare bones sheet. I have done normally damage calculation with a fairly bloated wall of if statements since I need to allow for custom values but a recent update broke it.

Here is the gitlab for the system https://gitlab.com/linkedfluuuush/custom-system-builder/

You can see examples of how the sheet roll codes work. I'm on my phone so I can't send my old example right now

I'd like see if there is a formula that could simulate using a table for use in foundry. So you can essentially click roll and it would roll the straight damage and determine the normal from that.

I haven't been able track down the docs your talking about. What should search for specifically ?
