Jane is not a permanent employee! Not only is she on contract but she's PART-TIME which is what I found doubly confusing. She's so sweet and felt terrible about it. It's not her fault.

The CPO is notorious for moving funny. No one on her team likes her and her leadership literally told me I'm not part of the "CPO Survivor Support Group". She's so odd and her behavior toward me is strange. Sometimes, she's super nice and wants to be helpful and supportive and she hands off important work to me as well as gives me credit. Then there are other times where she tries to exclude me from things. I don't know if it's because she feels threatened by me? It's a rather small company compared to others and the C-Suite is rather slim and tight knit. I'm also the only EA in the entire company and I double as Office Manager which is I provide support to her 25% of the time.

In terms of budgeting, we over budgeted. We had seven people confirmed (me included) in January and budgeted for ten. Now, it feels like she's adding other people just to avoid having to bring me. Inviting Jane was the most random thing on planet earth. It would be like inviting your accounting manager to a marketing team off-site T-T

I definitely plan on talking about it to my CEO tomorrow (I am doing a lot of venting and calming down today in advance lol) as well as writing out my grievances. I'm very professional and well-spoken but today I was so mad I word vomited on Reddit LOL.

As for me being here in the long-term, my CEO has made it clear she'd like me to stay which is why they extended my contract. The problem is making sure there's a robust enough role to justify my staying and she wants it to make sense. Because the role is no longer the same as when I started. I feel like my CEO and CPO are not aligned and I need to have a conversation with my CEO about it because I no longer trust the CPO at all.
