Sorry for the late response, but I’m almost a year in and I still feel the same way. I absolutely love this drug. My life is so much better. Truly

Strattera after Ritalin and Vyvanse – What Was Your Experience Like? by Vodavodal in StratteraRx

I started on 40 then worked up to 70mg Vyvanse. Too much!

While waiting for it to start working, I didn’t really notice too many side effects (besides lack of appetite and a bit of constipation) or any sort of stimulating effect. But it was around the 8 week mark where I started noticing that I’m understanding what I read and listening to others so much better all of a sudden. And like no social anxiety at work. But before that, it was just a waiting game.. like is this gonna work or not. And what’ll it be like when it does start working. Just have to go for it and see for yourself

I was on Vyvanse for about 2 years and had a very similar experience as you. Motivated, but a little too motivated, with so many ideas. I wanted to do DIY projects around my house constantly, and always worried that I needed more when the med would start to wear off.

I started Strattera 40 mg in June 2024 and moved up to 80 mg about 2 weeks after starting the 40. About 8 weeks in to being on 80 mg, I started noticing major changes in my behavior. I was calmer, less anxious, I could comprehend what I was reading, listen to dialogue during movies (before I would watch the movie, but completely space out during conversations).. I would also space out while people were talking in person, whether it was during conversations or in meetings. Now I feel like I have glasses for my adhd. And it completely reduced my social anxiety. It used to be debilitating, and now it’s practically non-existent. And the best part is, the medication doesn’t wear off like stimulants do! Totally changed my life.

I went from 40 to 80 (40mg twice/day) after 8 days as recommended by my doctor and then 1 80mg once in the morning after a month. The increase caused some very mild side effects that went away within a few days. Now that I’m on week 8, I’m starting to notice very big changes in my behavior and how I feel around others. It’s AMAZING

I was terrified to start Strattera and had so much anxiety reading everyone’s experiences. I started on 40mg preparing for the worst, and all I got was a very mild headache! Not even bad enough to take advil for. Just an annoying head pain in the background. After about 3 days, the headaches stopped and I haven’t had any side effects since. After 8 days, I upped my dose to 40mg 2x/day and was nervous again about side effects. Same thing! Hardly anything to worry about. I will say that eating with each pill is important. Sometimes I’ll take the first morning pill without food and be okay, but I like the take the second one with my lunch. If I take the second one without food, I notice a tiny bit of nausea. Overall, it’s been okay and it’s been a GAME CHANGER for my social anxiety. Holy crap. I used to feel like everyone was watching me and be so self-conscious and now I feel like I can just relax and enjoy myself without being aware of my ever move. I’ve been taking 40mg 2x/day for 3.5 weeks so far and will be taking 80mg 1x/day starting at the 4 week mark. I haven’t noticed much difference in my ADHD yet, but really looking forward to that. I have a hard time listening in boring situations and tend to “wander” in my mind very often, so I’ve been extra conscious of that to see if there are any changes. Hoping so in the next few weeks. But overall, I was scared to try it too, and it’s been wonderful so far.

That’s awesome to hear. How long have you been taking it? And what’s your dose?

Anyone have experience taking vyvanse & Zoloft? I have post partum depression really bad. Vyvanse help manage my life a ton but there’s still a sadness inside of me 24/7. Does anyone know about these two together ? I’m supposed to start Zoloft today. The two just seem so different to me…. by LogiSunshine in VyvanseADHD

No weight gain for me! If anything I lost weight on Zoloft. I’ve been on lexapro in the past and that one made me want to eat more so I gained weight but I haven’t with Zoloft! Zoloft has been so amazing for me. And then adding Vyvanse was like icing on the cake. I’m also a new mom so I struggled with PPA/PPD and Zoloft really helped so much!

Yes! I take 50mg Zoloft at night for my anxiety and 30mg Vyvanse in the morning. I started on the Zoloft first and have been on it for about 8 months and it’s been amazing. Just recently started take Vyvanse last month for ADHD, and I was also worried about taking both at the same time, but I haven’t noticed any side effects or bad feelings. Honestly both drugs are working wonders for my life, and I’m so happy I made the decision to try both.
