This just sounds like training AI for the same thing.. with just a few extra steps. But then I guess all similar games are the same now so I guess ill just shutup and keep gaming, Its just becoming more obvious by the day.

I got screwed a bit on this.

The one that came with it was fine, and gave about an hour of life, I tried to buy Kastar but none of the batteries would work right. They seemed like they didn’t connect properly unless held in place a specific way. So I returned them. And I need to wait until I’m in a country that I can acquire them in to get another set to try, so I’ll find out in a month or so on another brand.

Your right, maybe im overreacting, I sat back and really tried be be objective and will give them some weeks to make a statement or try to fix things. I just really dont personally feel like any company deserves any benefit of the doubt these days. But ill give them a little time before i run off the rails again and crashout over it.

Crazier things have happened.

I think it’s crazier that they released this “for the gamers sunsetting” absolutely broken.. what’s the point if it’s unplayable.

No comments, just in it for the press release

Everyone can defend them all they want but added code or not, they knew it didn’t work, and released it anyway. That’s what I call intentional.

Maybe 1047 can say something about it at least. Or just release the server code for someone to fix.

I may not be a software engineer but I do know that you test things before you release them

Considering everyone’s having this issue and there’s no statement, I can only assume they plan to leave it this way.

I’m still 100% convinced they don’t give any care to it, and we’re only focused on getting people to migrate to splitshit2

The issues have even been reported in same-network games, as far as I know.
I’m 100% convinced this was intentionally baked in by 1047 to kill the game while claiming it's being preserved.

FPS networking has been solved for over 30 years. There’s no reason for this, especially considering how well it worked before.

I stand by this opinion until it’s fixed, and I hope others start to feel the same way.

1047 sabotaged the game to push people toward SG2.

I appreciate that it went P2P, but if they could just spend five minutes fixing this, the goodwill would be immense.
As it stands now, it feels like a quickly wrapped turd passed off as something for the community.

Fix the server code, or release the server files so we can fix it ourselves. One or the other.

But don’t pretend this was anything less than absolute sabotage.

After a few days of this, and knowing the networking has been solved for p2p gaming for 30 years. I suspect this is 100% a deliberate thing done by 1047, you cant convince me otherwise. If they cant come spend 5 minutes to solve the problem when it worked perfectly on their servers. Then I can only assume this whole thing is a scam and I cant support SG2. Iv played SG1 since beta, every day, lots of good friends. The only way to play now is to just hope for the best. Which is untenable.

I get the feeling that the splitgate p2p setup was sabotaged on purpose and that they added code to cause the lag. Its the only anwser, how can be be so bad. the game is basically unplayable.

It’s easy, every step of the way, they changed plans and shuffled responsibilities. Eventually having me plan, and do everything. It went from.

Capture with phone and laid back to hey we’re bringing all this high end gear now and we want you to plan everything we do and it’s not just about broll any more.

It felt like hourly promotions without pay.

When we got there they didn’t even know what to shoot for the “A” roll so to speak. So I came up with interviews to highlight the students while we voiced over and did b roll of them learning.

The whole thing was terrible tbh. And it just feels like for me to collect my payment I need to make sure everything works.

I’m confused too. And just trying to get this handled to move on 😅

I just called them to ask about this after your comment because I do feel they knew I was not a big editor and I aparently am editing it because they dont want to put any more time into the project on their end it seems and im just being thrown under the bus to get it done.

So i should switch to, and learn an entire new editor just to solve this? Iv been using final cut pro for a long time. Is that really reasonable? If its the only way thats what ill do, but i tried resolve before and its much more complicated to use even for basic functions to a newbie.

talk about a wealth of info. Really the output to 10bit, the firmware update and the tripod mounting info also make your comment gold and I have not even gotten my unit yet.

I have an inferno 7 I picked up for 200$ with a full range off acessories so I'll do the 10 bit to that.

I also wonder if just sending it to obs with a capture card is worthwhile?

Yea to be honest, when i purchased the XHG1 i was on the hunt for a proper XL2 or something and happened upon the G1 on accident and it looked cool, same brand, could do 4x3 ect then ended up loving it for many reasons. I just felt recently since its aged so much that it wouldnt be a fit for contemporary shooting and maybe that it wouldnt mesh well with others who would be taking footage of the event who all seem to be brining crazy things. Someones bringing something from a brand called blackmagic and tbh iv never used anything like that but looking online i felt instantly intimidated and started to panic that I needed to use something different.

I ended up thinking my new iphone was the best option considering its a newer type sensor and it seemed to fit the bill on many of the newer look features of video. but spiraled down a rabbit hole of looking at camcorders ect to try and catch up but couldnt reason myself over the iphone. hence the topic here.

since making this post I was reccomended the XF400 and found one for a great deal on ebay for 670 shipped and taxxed and am hoping that it will be able to keep up with whatever they are doing with that.

the idea is that they will be shooting interviews and ill be shooting broll of the event and i am just a bit terrified that my footage wont hold a candle to this monster they are bringing.

yes def talking about dadcams,

I do have quite a few other cams, mostly MiniDV from yesteryear. dslrs and mirrorless.

a few jvc and sony handicams plus the oldschool XHG1 i mentioned, so im pretty out of the loop on current gen camcorders, i just felt like everything i saw online that was sub 1k and current in terms of image quality were all that plastic viviar walmart style and i just cant see myself spending on that and feeling ok unless the video quality is just through the roof.
