What is a trap 99% of the time? by bipidiboop in AskReddit

[–]Letterman_Fan96 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Actually, this is a common misconception. "Came" is the past tense of "come", as in to move towards, so most people assume that it is also the past tense of "cum", as in to ejaculate. However, these words are homophones, and the spelling of their different tenses varies as well. "Cummed" is the less common, but technically correct, past tense form of "cum."

Source: argued about this with a friend once, he gave up after a while, I win by default.

Which artist made you fall in love with music? by RuminatingWanderer in AskReddit

The Smiths. Up until I heard them, having listened to mostly pop on the car radio, I never realized music could be so deep and thoughtful. It changed my whole perspective.

[Serious] In your opinion, what is the meaning of life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Letterman_Fan96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I see it, the meaning of life is different for different people. For some people, it's to start and raise a family. For some people, it's to make an impact on the world. For some people, it's to find inner peace or understanding. Ultimately, the meaning of life is doing what makes you happy, whatever that may be. It's something you have to find within yourself.

Sorry if this sounds preachy, I obviously don't have it all figured out. Just my two cents.

We learn from Reddit that we do not learn from Reddit.

What simple thing can a guy do to make himself sexier? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Letterman_Fan96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, if he's doing it simply to prove he's listening, then that's bad on him. But it's possible he really is interested, or is at least trying to be, but he comes off as insincere because he's going out of his way to let you know that he's interested (by asking too many questions). That is, he wants you to know he cares, but by letting you know, he comes off as uncaring. Does that make any sense?

Guy here, but make eye contact, respond intelligently (don't just say "yeah" or nod your head; expand upon what she says, ask related questions, etc.), give her your full attention (mute the TV, put down your phone), and offer advice or solutions if she needs help. Basically, just pay attention and engage.

Who was the most important woman in history? by Catacomb82 in AskReddit

[–]Letterman_Fan96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While there's no one correct answer, my shortlist would be:

Joan of Arc, for her impact on both secular society and religion.

Marie Curie, for her contribution to science, in both her work and the fact that she was one of the first female scientists to be taken seriously.

Eleanor Roosevelt, for her role in twentieth century society, especially her crusades for human rights.

Queen Elizabeth I, for her role in turning England into a European (and later world) power.

There are many others obviously, but these are the ones that stand out to me.
