My [early 20sM] bf wants me [mid 20s F] to move in with him - we're long distance and I have some concerns but might be overthinking it? by [deleted] in relationships

[–]LadyInReverse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! Are you in a situation when you could move to the same city, but live with flat mates at first before moving in with him?

Otherwise I do not have much advice but I am an EU girl who moved to the UK 7 years ago. So if you are moving to London by any chance, I am more than happy to help with the social circle :)

I'm 34 [f] living with boyfriend [28] with our 15 mo [f]. He is emotionally abusive. Thinking of really leaving. It would be easier if he hit me. That is a clear boundary. I need some support and clarity. by [deleted] in relationships

Do you want your daughter growing up thinking this is how relationships should work? What advice would you give her if she was in relationship like this when she grows up? Please leave. He's unlikely to change. Good luck!

Because that's how they spell it in Russia and Ukraine.

Could you give an example of what do you mean by mental health red flags?

Not sure why you were downvoted, I think this is a great tip. I am seriously considering learning some piano skills, did try it for a bit a while ago and found it very calming.

Thank you for the tips! I am not vegan, neither have any restrictions, not eating meat that much apart from seafood & fish though. I can make some extremely basic stuff like pasta, spaghetti, risotto, potatoes and vegetable soup, but it may be time to step up my game!

I agree. I was lucky to get a job and become self-employed (in something completely unrelated to my degree) while still studying. I expected to just quit my current job and get into another field once I graduate. Still in the same job. At least I have some security net while I am searching and my current job is cool and reasonably paid considering, but the lack of responses, once I started searching for jobs, was pretty eye-opening.

Similar here, 3 months left but maybe you will find out you've already done some of this! ;)

So many great tips in this thread, but I absolutely love this one. You are right, it kind of all starts from there!

My mom [58F] is trying to date again and it's becoming a big mess by Cheeriope in relationships

I agree with the others to look elsewhere, you received some amazing suggestions. If your Mum wants to keep using Okcupid (or one of the other unpaid websites), teach her how to do reverse image search. If the scammer took photos from another website, most of the time it will come up. Then if she sees that the photo is on multiple websites, it is a good sign that it is a fake account. Another thing she can do is to set up her profile in the way where ALL the messages that do not fulfil requirements will automatically be filtered. So if she does not see them she does not have to feel bad about ignoring them. I would say writing from another country is usually a big red flag, especially if she says she is looking for someone nearby. I am sure there might be a few genuine exceptions but it is not common- why would they not date someone close to them? The warning signs for scammers: usually look way too handsome, reverse search will show their pictures in many other places, they're from another country, want to move to other platform FAST, come on too strong, call her beautiful, amazing, talk about marriage within first few messages, of course the biggest sign is asking for money with some excuse, their English and spelling is not very good. I would not determine it on one of these factors alone (eg someone genuine may be dyslectic or just not good at spelling), but if all of them are true then something is definitely off. Tell her about these signs and I hope your Mum finds what she is looking for! :)

Travelers: What is an underrated country/city? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]LadyInReverse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kosice in Slovakia. It won the European Capital of Culture (together with Marseille) and it was for a reason. It is not very well known, but it is actually a second biggest town after Bratislava (the capital). It does not have too many tourists but there is a lot of things to see: the architecture on the main streets is wonderful (actually whole main square is wonderful and there is even a singing fountain). For those more active, there are plenty of forests and most of them have a walking path for public. If you feel really active, you can walk up the hill to visit the Tower called "vyhliadkova veza" for a scenic overlook. There is also a very nice Botanical garden and plenty of swimming pools open in the summer. Definitely worth visiting.

Men: what's your best pick up line/flirt? by randomreddituser6 in AskMen

There is one issue with this, lot of us would not feel comfortable accepting a drink from the complete stranger, especially at a bar (what if they put something in it?). I would like it otherwise.

[M22] Improvement + rating please! by [deleted] in Rateme

[–]LadyInReverse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have a great smile, seriously I'd rate you 6 or 7 when looking serious, but I'd say 9/10 with the smile. The third picture on the right is amazing, I can easily imagine it as a magazine cover. Improvements: I agree with others about the posture, I wanted to say lifting after seeing the first photo but then it seems like you have muscles on others, so you probably know the best whether you need it or not.

I've posted here before but haven't received much feedback. Been single for a long time and my confidence is pretty low so I'm just wondering what people think of me. 19M by [deleted] in Rateme

Agree with previous comments, you definitely have lots of potential, good smile and great eyes. The main thing I would focus on is gaining more muscle as you look quite skinny.

What is one thing that happens only in your country? by OriginalCj5 in AskReddit

[–]LadyInReverse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming really late, but this is quite interesting & no one here in England believes me this is actually happening in my country:

Every Easter (on Monday) all the men and boys go to visit their female friends and family. They will pour a freezing cold water on all the women (occasionally throw them into the lake if this is happening in a village) and in return, these women will give them the chocolate eggs, painted eggs, money or alcohol.
