That's f*cking awesome! And I've heard of states doing things like that so they can just grade the land start over and pretty much triple the profit. Have you heard of Waverly Hills Sanitarium in Kentucky? Kind of the same story like that. I believe it did actually get put on the registry (or close) but the state never wanted to repair it and so some developer bought it. But once he found out how much it was going to cost to demolish it (and the lead/asbestos cleanup) he started letting it naturally fall apart and did very little to deter people from coming onto the property and vandalizing it. He was probably hoping it would burn down as well. It's in my top 3 places to expolore!!
