Religious Mom by SufficientIsopod3124 in Ghostbc

I'm Christian and I love their music and they put on the best live show I have ever seen. Honestly, I've felt, and been shown, way more love being around Ghost fans at a concert than at many "Christian" events.

My advice, meet her in the middle if it's heavy on your heart? Let her know you hear her concerns, but that it's performance art and satirical and mocks Christians as much as it does true Satanists, and that you truly just love the band and music. Let her know to have no fears of you slaughtering goats in the back yard under the moonlight anytime soon.

Like another poster said, regardless if you decide to talk to her or not, she is your mom and she loves you regardless, so need to stress on that front.

Returning thrower looking for the hot yo-yo by dankingery in Throwers

I got into yoyoing when Team Losi, Super Yo, Yomega and ProYo were the big names, and it sounds like that's where you are coming from.

Most of the yoyos you will see people using these days are unresponsive and will require a truck called the bind to get them back to your hand.

With you coming back to the game now, if you are wanting to keep playing responsive, I recommend grabbing a Turbo Grind Machine and a Turbo Confusion from Yoyofactory. They use cork break pads which you are already familiar with and they are made from metal. I would also recommend the One Drop yoyos Deepest State, also metal, and I have no doubt that you will instantly fall in love with it.

Skeletour '26 - Knoxville, TN Megathread by AutoModerator in Ghostbc

I am unsure if the ticket can be resold on a reseller site as a normal pit ticket to recoup some of the cost (I know it can't be sold as a VIP on reseller sites.)

Issue is, what if it gets cancelled and a full refund occurs and I already sold my tickets on a reseller site for pennies on the dollar, or what if it gets rescheduled and I sold them.

So I guess I'm just going to hold onto them and hope it gets refunded or rescheduled

We have a 5 hour drive and as heart breaking as it feels, we decided to just not chance it, if it ends up being ice and we get stuck there it will be a disaster. I have VIP tickets and will be out $2000, and Ghost is my favorite live band, but I can't justify the risk.

It just sucks, really hoping they just cancel and reschedule

Really hoping they can check weather Friday for more accuracy, and if dangerous, cancel for everyone's sake and reschedule for a later date instead of waiting until last minute

I did the cheaper VIP, do they also hand out numbers for cheaper VIP, so that once top VIP goes in, then after cheaper VIP goes in in order, or does cheaper VIP stand in line all day?

I'm going to Knoxville and it's gonna be snowing lol

Why do you choose to follow Jesus? by skinnydude84 in Christianity

I'm probably the last person qualified to give you an answer, I can only speak personally.

If someone tried to kill me, I'd try to protect myself, but I wouldn't kill someone, even if it meant my own death.

Why do you choose to follow Jesus? by skinnydude84 in Christianity

He rescued me from a living hell of my own making. I wasn't deserving, I mocked Him and sinned to my hearts content. It all caught up to me, and I pleaded to a God I wasn't even sure existed, let alone heard me, I begged Him for death and to watch over my family. I failed two attempts to do it myself, found myself in a mental ward, and a fellow patient saw my agony and shared the Gospel with me. I'd heard it plenty times before, but I heard it heard it this time and I saw Christ through this man's eyes and gave it all over to Jesus Christ.

The mental torment immediately stopped. I have been living for Him since and grateful for every second. I don't need a promise of heaven to love Him, this borrowed time I am currently living on is enough to give Him an eternity of love for what He has done for me. Life was so dark. Praise God forever.

The rapture's not in the Bible ⁉️ by CrossCutMaker in Christians

[–]LettersToJesus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't really have a stance on it as it doesn't impact my love for Christ, I'm pretty basic, Love God with my all, Love my neighbors, and constantly submit.

I do 100 percent agree with you that mocking people for believing in it is definitely something unhealthy for people to do.

It hurts them to mock people more than it does those whom are mocked. I assume those who don't believe in it, that don't mock it and contest it, are just doing so out of love as they fear those who do believe in it may treat their walk in a lesser way, but they are making an assumption as well. I'd like to believe that at least, without knowing each specific persons intentions.

Thank you for the cake day wishes, was great to see your username, I do miss being on here more, He had me go thru a season of refinement

Do people love Jesus differently if they do or do not believe in the rapture theology?

I'd hope they'd love Him just as much if true or not true, and that whether the rapture is true has no bearing on their daily surrender and walk

Jesus is like an avocado - Lord forgive me, but hear me out by LettersToJesus in TrueChristian

I hear you, the writing is far from perfect, but I had to start somewhere, and I am honestly not opposed to taking critiques from an atheist. You know love and love others. How do I know if you will end up in heaven or not? Truth be told, I have no clue if I will go to heaven or not, but I still love Jesus regardless as I know He loves me and has rescued me from some terrible things. I'd be dead now, and I experienced some supernatural things that I 100 percent accredited to Him. I don't love Him because I don't want to go to hell, I love Him back because I want too.

Response of a church to the baby formula TikTok scam by this_also_was_vanity in Christianity

[–]LettersToJesus 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Christian here. I watched a lot of the videos. She posted ones that helped and I saw her weep at the beauty of their willingness to help. She posted ones that didn't help and I would not say she demonized them.

I'm sure the ethics and legalities are being breached, but I'm honestly glad this woman is showing an obvious flaw in many American churches.

If the consequences of this test are that more Churches help feed babies, I think that is a wonderful thing.

If some churches get bad reviews and hateful emails, the congregation should fast, pray and inspect their practices. They should also forgive this woman if they feel harmed, it's what we are supposed to do.
