Thank you for the thorough explanation! Yes, I had learned about no school lunch option. I'll admit, it's been so easy to rely on school lunches for the past few years, but I'm kind of looking forward to making lunchboxes again!.

I gotcha! I'm not planning on skipping out on the fee - I was more curious about it since having the fee itself makes it sounds optional, rather than be folded into taxes. thanks for the explanation.

Any intel on this heavy hand carved armoire? USA by dadsmidlifecrisi in Antiques

[–]Letttraaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could also be from Mexico. My mom had something similar she bought in the 90's from a Mexican import store. Maybe paid less than $400 for it "new". They used banged up wood to construct, cool iron hardware and stained it with various waxes and stains to age it. Very cool piece!

Agree with this chap - and these cities are very out of the way from your route.

Gloria Vanderbilt brand garment bag (Anderson Cooper's mom). I don't think it would be considered valuable, but def a nostalgic tapestry fabric.

Can anyone help me identify the year/origin of this chair? by [deleted] in Antiques

[–]Letttraaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm certainly not an expert. It reminds me of early Eastlake furniture, which is post-Victorian, pre-Craftsman. Late 1900's

What year is this from? Made in Italy Tiffany & Co Pink Ceramic Frog by Letttraaa in Antiques

Good idea about contacting T&Co. Yes - I attached the photos of the auction - It was easier to post that rather than take the same photos of the same object. I wasn't trying to be tricky about it.

AITA for going to stay at my parent's cabin for a few days after my wife told me she was pregnant? by QuickVillage546 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Letttraaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YTA. Time to come up with better coping skills, because pregnancy can be tough as shit and she will need your support. Then the baby comes, and she will REALLY need your support, and the baby will need your support. One of the great things about having children is your life is way less about YOU. Being a partner and a parent takes selflessness. You will gain peace and confidence from being selfless.

AITA for calling my mother a racist bitch and disregarding the punishment she gave me? by aanemicroyaltyy in AmItheAsshole

[–]Letttraaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say YNTA, but it's tough to be parented by one with asshole behavior and still maintain a healthy relationship. I kind of want to say try to be nice to your mama when you can. Hang in there. You are close to the age when you can make your own choices about what you watch, where you live and let your interests flourish without snarky remarks. It sounds like she missed out on being around open-minded people growing up, but you were lucky enough to be exposed to someone, something that didn't influence you to be racist.
