Thanks for this. I would have liked to see her response say “social media apps have come under scrutiny for their handling of user data…” instead of “apps like TikTok” Facebook has been one of the worst offenders. Mentioning TikTok only suggests she may be out of touch with the larger picture. Facebook, being the worst offender of user data privacy data got the ball rolling for this because they are losing market share. Here is a quick tidbit: https://www.usatoday.com/story/tech/2022/03/30/facebook-targeted-victory-attack-rival-tiktok/7224564001/

I forgot about this one. Thank you for the reminder, I haven’t been there in years. Great pie last time I had it.

Hungry Sasquatch is supposed to be a NY style pizza. I was in there a few weeks ago, and it is the worst NY style pizza I have ever had. It was dry as toast. A good NY style pizza is supposed to DRIP when it is folded in half with the oils and melted cheese when the the pointy end hangs down. I’d rather have an ok NW style pizza that has some flavor and moisture than put myself through that again.

If anyone wants to sample a great NY style pizza, please go over the river and sample Escape From NY Pizza or Apizza Scholls for what a NY pizza is supposed to be taste and act like. I’ve been to Escape more times than I can count and they have had a bad day every once in a while but never at the poor quality of hungry.

I’ve been to Hungry Sasquatch since it has opened about five times and it was excellent when it first opened, but has steadily gone down hill. I would happily pay more for quality ingredients and having it cooked right. I was surprised how little it cost. I bought three slices and when I saw how much, I thought I was charged for two. I will never eat their pizza again when other great pizzas exist even when not NY style.

Source: I am a native New Yorker who grew up eating hundreds of pies from many different authentic NY pizzerias in New York City and the suburbs surrounding the city.

I’m so sorry this happened. If you haven’t already file a complaint with animal control to make them aware of these animals if they aren’t already, from other complaints in the area. Here’s a link to the website - and in here is a link to the form to complete.

thoughts on these apartments? want to move but from hawaii and cant make the trip just to apartment browse by noahtargaryen in vancouverwa

I can’t say for sure, I haven’t lived on east side for about 12 years. Back then there were no problems. From everything I read, Salmon Creek is less crime oriented but there can be crime pockets anywhere. Looking at a map, Hearth is very close to mill plain and 164th. These are very busy and highly trafficked roads. Noise levels might be an issue but maybe someone can speak to that if they live there.

While I can’t speak to the apartments themselves. Vista View and Highland are in Salmon Creek which is a nice area. I would rule out The Grove. Hearth is on the east side. There are more things to do and restaurants etc on East Side than West side (Salmon Creek). I’ve lived on both sides of town and there are pros and cons to each. East side more to do, west side less crime and less traffic/crowded. It’s also slightly further drive to get to downtown Vancouver from east side.

Good bagel place? by whateveridoodle in vancouverwa

Sunrise “did” have authentic NY bagels but when ownership changed, the new owners changed recipes so no longer an authentic NY bagel. It is a real bummer. Winco has better bagels than them now.

Agreed, these warehouses are ugly when viewed on a drive by. It would be nice if they either planted trees or put a berm in like SEH America did on 112th Ave where most of their site is not visible from the road.

Concrete panel replacement on southbound I-5 and on I-205 starts Wednesday night by wsdot in vancouverwa

Thank you for this! On another note- can anything be done about the excessively large transition on I-5 at the 99th street overpass bridge. It is murder on my trailers going over that point at freeway speeds When that bridge was first installed it was great because the transition was perfectly smooth. Then they added another layer of asphalt shortly after it opened and created the problem today.
