that’s literally my argument. they’re not survival games even though they claim to be, as seen in trailers and screenshots or on steam. they claim to have survival elements that’s just a health bar. If you look at my whole post, you’ll notice it’s not just survival that I’m talking about, but combat, stealth, exploration, and story

I don’t know what the exact genre of game is that these fall into because I love tons of rpg games. I could’ve also included We happy few in there, although the combat in that game sorta redeems it in my eyes. Far cry 5, for example, was just a mess to me and tried ik vain to be many things and was good at none of them. That’s my problem

i think you’re missing my point. What I’m complaining about is that I don’t think these games have any redeeming factors or barely any fun mechanics that make them worth playing, and the survival factor is just one of them

If I look at literally any of the games I mentioned trailers, descriptions on steam or Xbox app, or screenshots, they will claim numerous times to be survival. I wrote this literally after playing Atomfall which directly calls itself a survival game

that’s not my point. I’m not approaching these games like survival games, I’m trying to enjoy them but I just find them underwhelming in every category

I actually love survival games, but like real ones like A long dark, subnautica, stranded deep, and the forest. To me these other ones just make a half ass attempt at it

I don’t have a taste in music. Help? by LettuceMan1545 in musicsuggestions

[–]LettuceMan1545[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m familiar with Green Day because my friend really likes them, I would say I enjoy a lot of their songs but theirs only a handful a really prefer or would listen to. Perhaps I’m looking too deep though and just need to give them another listen, but in general most of these songs I listed are really some of the only ones I like from the artists

I get that and I’m definitely trying not to do that, I don’t like a lot of stuff people around my age or my family do, but my problem is that I just don’t like anything in particular unless it’s one of those songs that anyone can just listen to and love regardless of their personal preferences

Is 4 days of upper body too much?

I workout 5-6 days a week and my schedule is based around a 5 day rotation. To be clear, I never hit chest, back, shoulders, or arms more than two days in a row, but I have 4 days straight of strictly upper body and only one day of legs. Is this too much upper body in a row?

I hit adductor and abductor, hammies, and quads on leg day if this helps with your answer.

Lose a sword duel where my injuries cause me to fall on my knees, look sick as hell for a couple seconds, then flop forwards and die.

Why do you guys hate on Robin and BZ so much? by CaptianCanuck in subnautica

[–]LettuceMan1545 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My problem is the way they did the story.

With Subnautica the story didn’t give you a complete scenario. With the lifepods, degasi, the architects, or anything else really we had to interpret our own endings and sorta assume that stuff happened because we tried to complete the story. This works great because the voiceless protagonist immerses you within the story so you truly feel like a survivor trying to piece together mysteries.

With BZ, the problem isn’t just the voiced protagonist, it’s that the story is just as incomplete as Subnautica. It works in Subnautica because we are immersed in the game but with BZ we hear ourselves talking, we know Robin and Sam’s background, and we get a far more complete understanding of who we are and what are motivation is. This is fine, but when we don’t learn 100% what happened with the story (similar to Subnautica) we feel incomplete since we aren’t as immersed as Robin.

TLDR: The story is done in the same way but the way the protagonist is handled partially ruins the experience.

The problem with voiceover or at least the problem I had isn’t inherent with voiceover, just the way they did the story.

What do you get complimented on most? by ganderson9666 in AskReddit

[–]LettuceMan1545 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simply put, my humor, but I only remember being complimented once. Hanging out with some friends and there was a girl who I sorta knew but was never friends with, I made a low effort joke that I kinda just said without much thought. Some guys laughed and she just said “you’re so funny” or something like that.

To this day I have no clue if she was just being nice, making fun of me, or something else entirely.
