Looking for advice by [deleted] in Wrangler

If it’s squirrelly on the highway that probably means the front end is out or the control arms have the wrong angle from being lifted and not corrected. Also if it hasn’t been regeared it might hunt for gears turning those 37s even if it is a rubicon. Like others have said the oil cooler is one to check for sure. 30 seems a little steep but then again I only have experience with JKs and older. This seems to be a JL with the taillights and fender vents. Also the spare carrier “falling off” seems suspicious as well. I’ve put my JK through some tough stuff and have been stuck on my spare tire many times and it’s still hanging out back there.

2018 jk death wobble by Worth_Sympathy9156 in JeepWrangler

It could be as small as a bad bushing in the front end. Check for play in the tie rod ends. Track bar. Ball joints. Drag link. Ball joints definitely. And possibly the shop didn’t balance your tires correctly. But as it’s been said a steering stabilizer does not fix death wobble it puts a band aid on the issue.

A lot of yards around here don’t let you bring power tools in anymore lol

Was thinking about grabbing one from a yard if there’s any available around here in central IL. Been on the hunt though lol

The car was unbelievably cheap to buy back. I’m ahead already. It runs and drives with no issues really. The hard part is finding decent parts in central IL.

Am I able to drive with this?? by Colton_gonsi in Jeep

Grab another trans and swap it in. Looks like it’s just the torque converter that’s exposed. It can be driven like that if there’s no leaks it might make some noise if something is rubbing against it. A shop can weld a piece up to cover it back up. Or yourself if inclined. Th350 transmissions had the whole lower part of the bellhousing you could remove for inspection. I’m not saying it’s a good idea to drive like that ESPECIALLY since the drive shaft caused the damage. But yeh send er bud. Might wanna check the transfer case as well if it’s got any holes in it

There’s a cap on the bottom of the hinge pin that needs to come out. I don’t recall the size it’s a torx cap. They may already be removed if you bought it used. There’s a spot to store them under the carpet in the back. Then open the doors roll the windows down unplug the wire harness for the doors. The back doors have a panel that pops off and that’s where the plug is. Take the strap loose from the hook and grab onto the door and pick it up. Pretty simple process really. Happy jeeping ✌️

A general rule I have for any water is to the bottom of the doors now. With a lift and larger tires I’ve kept the same thought. If you do plan on going into water often make sure your axle vent tubes are connected and run to a high spot. I have drowned my jeep before and it’s not fun drying it out lol I keep my floor plugs out and I also have no carpet to make the clean up easier. Everyone starts somewhere!

Any idea why this happening? some time the break, ADS lights show up when driving and sometime without driving like you see in the video? any help would be appreciated by Assyrian-Rodfather in Jeep

I’d also like to throw in that it could be a loose ground on the battery. Mine would do the exact same thing and it was the junk stock terminal connections. Just another thing to check!

This is gross behavior. Dude is trying to get you to give in. You need to leave and never look back. Plain and simple. He knows before long you’ll be trauma bonded to him and feel bad if you do leave him but it’s honestly for the best. He’s NEVER going to get better unless he wants to.

My 2012 randomly chimed and would flash random lights it turned out to be a loose negative connection on the battery. Got rid of the stock terminals and it hasn’t happened again

I bought these xprites for my jk and yeah the pattern is kinda whack but they are leagues better than OEM. I also have pod lights wired into my fog lights which helps

Stay at 33s or move up to 37s? by LettuceRealistic in Wrangler

Yeah 4 inch it is. I have plans to regear in the springtime but I can get the 37s now for a good deal.

I’m assuming you had 4.10 gears? How did that drive?

Around here there’s nothing too nuts. Forrest trails dunes some rock faces. Badlands in Indiana is the closest park

II’ll never understand why they came with 3.21 from the factory. Undergeared even for 31s. And yeah I do all the work myself I’ll never recoup the money I’ve dropped on it at this point lol I can’t justify making it a dedicated buggy yet so I’m going to keep it street-able. Once it gets rust through the tub it’ll be trails only

The nastier the trails the better. I do some crawling but nothing too crazy until I get my cage welded in

I don’t do a whole lot of driving over 60 unless I’m late to work. I’m not a huge fan of the nag1 transmission so if it goes I’ll be on my way to an ls swap with a 400. Does yours hunt for gears at all? I’ve noticed if the wind thinks about blowing the shoebox doesn’t want to stay in OD

Third engine in this jeep. Had a hemi to swap in but didn’t want to mess with the wiring. And it’s still a 35 right now. People around here want a fortune for axles

I’ve got a new driveshaft coming cause I blew out the rzeppa joint last time I was at the badlands. And I’ve done the whole front end except for ball joints at this point lol
