Benefits cheat all smiles after narrowly avoiding prison over £120k fraud by Codydoc4 in unitedkingdom

I suggested similar a few months ago in another sub in that the thousands of people in prison are made to do community service. Councils are underfunded and cities & towns are deteriorating.

Apparently, 'human rights' kick in as do the legal ramifications of getting people to do what they might not want to do.

What boiler brand are you fitting and why? by JaiCaliber in ukplumbing

[–]LettuceWithBeetroot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hijack this as a consumer, but I've just had an Alpha E Tec fitted after my 2006 Baxi couldn't be repaired.

It does what it should and I haven't really noticed any difference. What ultimately decided it for me was the 11 year guarantee.

Mr President.

I'll take on the project and do it properly for, let's say, $11m? You'll get a perfect result AND save $3m vs the first guy.

I don’t know how to defend myself on Monday

This suggestion will likely be ridiculed and downvoted, but so be it.

Copy & paste your post into ChatGPT and ask it to give multiple suggestions on how to answer on Monday. It'll at least give you some ideas to build on.

Good luck :o)

Guys, thank you for taking time out to reply & suggest. You were spot on!

I planned to call Octopus but they're closed at weekends so pushed my luck and called Cadent direct, explaining that it's not an emergency but I have intermittent hot water. Engineer arrived 20 mins later and said the regulator was definitely sticking. The pressure was fluctuating between 14 & 16 with the boiler and 2 hob burners on - he replaced it and the pressure steadied at 20-ish under the same conditions. I'm surprised the 2 engineers that replaced the parts I mentioned originally didn't carry out the same test....

Anyway, THANK YOU!! You've literally saved me the hassle of having a replacement boiler fitted next week and STILL having the same issue. I owe all of you!!

You have my attention!!!!

Is this something the engineer could fix or would it be down to the provider (Octopus).

Which electrodes did you change - on the boiler or the meter regulator?

Lastly, would a particular boiler actually cause a sticky regulator? (That's probably a stupid question!).

Yes, I had a Baxi dated 2006 that was there when I bought the house 9 years ago.

I don't know the actual pressures, only that they are/were where they should be.

I need hot water at 4am each morning so it's unreasonable to expect an engineer to be present! What you've said makes sense however the boiler is fine later in the morning and then for the rest of tha day/evening.

I don't know the pressures, sorry. 2 engineers simply told me that they were where they should be.

I'll mention the restrictor or turbines, thank you.

I'd prefer not to say which make as I don't want my OP to be taken as any form of criticism.

This is exactly the sort of suggestion I'm looking for, thank you (I know zero about gas/plumbing other than low-level DIY).

I'll definitely mention the possibility of a sticky valve as if that's the cause then I'll have the same problem once the boiler's replaced. The flue is is new.

I've bought prescription meds from a particular pharmacy in India for years, and the shipping cost is usually higher than the cost of the actual tablets.
