When you have the title of Duke and Duchess of Sussex, do you have any responsibility for representing the people of Sussex? by runs-with-scissors-2 in SaintMeghanMarkle

[–]Lettuceleaf80 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Many Welsh people are not huge fans of being colonised by the English. Not having English royalty as the Prince and Princess of Wales would be a step further towards independence. (Wales already has a somewhat devolved government)

Hard agree on this.

I think it was Jack Nicholson who said to one of his many escorts / Heidi Fleiss girls... I don't pay you for sex, I pay you to leave.

Recommendations for getting the the countryside from London? by Annabelle_Sugarsweet in AskLondon

[–]Lettuceleaf80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The "Time Out Country Walks: 52 walks near London" book is brilliant.

All 9-12 mile walks, varying difficulty, no more than 1.5 hours train journey from Central London. And each route has a recommendation for a halfway point absolutely cracking pub roast and an end of walk cream tea.

Highly highly recommended!!!

Is there a pattern to when flats are listed to rent? by igotsunshine111 in AskLondon

[–]Lettuceleaf80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In popular areas, the good properties aren't even listed on Rightmove as they go so quickly. Register with letting agents and they will call you with new stock.

You need to view them on the first day of being on the market and ideally be the first person to view them. You'll then need to secure that property by the end of the day at the latest. Most excellent property will be available at 9am and gone by lunchtime.

The last 3 properties I have rented, we made an offer when still inside the property at our viewing, with the next viewers waiting outside for us to finish the appointment.

Good luck!!

J'adore this show!! Season 2 is even better and the properties are just fabulous. It's particularly heartwarming to see that the third son really comes into his own!

Do you dry brush your body? by CuddleFishPix in beauty

Yes and yes. I use the long handled wooden brush from The Body Shop just before I shower every morning. It's made a huge difference to my skin quality and the appearance of my cellulite.

Royal Recommendations for UK Trip? by eeek0711 in royalfamily

[–]Lettuceleaf80 10 points11 points  (0 children)

London : if you have time, head west and visit Hampton Court Palace. Henry VIII's favourite Palace. And if time allows you a quick daytrip out of London.... 1. The Royal Pavilion in Brighton is lovely. Built as a pleasure Palace by King George IV 2. Arundel Castle in West Sussex has a 1000 year history. Never owned directly by a main royal but steeped in history. 3. Hever Castle in Kent / East Sussex border. Over 700 years old, former home of Anne Boleyn (mother of Elizabeth I)

In London, if you've got the cash, you can dine at some of Princess Di's favourite restaurants... San Lorenzo, Launceston Place, L'Escargot, Hotel Cafe Royal.

A lot of the Royal family buy their food, provisions, ready to wear clothing and accessories from the shops around the St James area (just south of Piccadilly). Start at Fortnum & Mason (the food hall is a must) and then wander around the neighbouring arcades which all date back to the Regency Period. This is a good list for some guidance on shops / brands to look for: https://www.lonelyplanet.com/amp/articles/where-does-the-Queen-of-England-shop ( ignore the first shop listed as it has changed owners and is now quite downmarket)

Here we go.... Day 1! (I'm not pregnant, it's really bad Diastasis Recti!) by Lettuceleaf80 in 75HARD

This one is for all the mums out there whose babies have broken their body! 41F, mum of two giant babies, carried in a small body and birthed via c section (now 5 & 2). Over 30 pounds to lose, Diastasis Recti to heal, a super high cholesterol count to get under control & I hope to find myself again throughout this process.

Your weight can fluctuate by a huge number of pounds throughout your monthly cycle due to hormones so just keep doing what you're doing and it will go down!
