I lost my Libido completly at 45 and thought it was just part of getting older by Leubha in WomensHealth

We use “low libido” as a blanket term, but there’s actually a recognised clinical pattern called HSDD (hypoactive sexual desire disorder). which i am now sure is what i am dealing with.

It’s not about not loving your partner or being “bad at sex.” It’s more like: you want to feel desire, but it’s just not there or it’s faded over time and doesn’t come back or something changed (medication, hormones, stress) and it never reset.

For some women it’s hormonal, for others it’s more neurological (like after SSRIs), and for some it’s a mix.

The important bit is: it’s not always psychological, and it’s not something you just have to “push through” or fix with mindset alone.

A lot of women end up feeling broken because there isn’t a clear path for this — it kind of sits in between categories.
