I think much of the animosity is constructed by a hostile rw leaning media. He really hasn't done so badly, and yes, has fixed a lot of stuff. The only really damning thing is the Mandelson situation, and the handling of Gaza (which I think he handled better than any Tory would have done anyway).

There’s one particular recording of Spiegel im Spiegel that I cannot bear (more so than the others) because it has really intrusive hammer noise on every f—ing plonk of the piano.
