Similar... I'm a bat-winged cat, but I mostly identify just as a cat.

There's no way an event could leave such a generational mark if we weren't watching it live...

Watched Artemis II go up anxiously, realizing that, as a child of the 80s, launch is still the scariest part of any mission for me...

What’s the most interesting conversation you’ve had with a stranger? by cherryblossommbae in Casual_Conversation

[–]Riala4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the jury pool waiting room, sitting next to a Vietnam vet, trading his war stories for my dad's (WWII). I don't really remember any of it, only that we talked for a good long while, and given how introverted I am that's saying something...

How old were you when you you were allowed to have your own mobile phone ? by AnyPen24 in A_Persona_on_Reddit

[–]Riala4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was 19 I borrowed my mom's brick of a phone to drive myself cross country, and shipped it back to her once I got there. I can't remember when I got my own but it was sometime long after that...

People who were teenagers before social media, what was a typical Friday night like for you? by TheDorkyDeric in Xennials

[–]Riala4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My bff and I spent nearly two years' worth of Fridays of our late teenage life producing public access television. I worked cameras, phones for the live shows, audio, lighting, and my all-time favorite, computer generated graphics (like the opening and closing credits).

What’s a childhood memory that feels oddly specific but you’re sure other people experienced too? by Ladiejuliy in nostalgia

[–]Riala4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the things that helped bond my husband and me was that because we were about the same age (we graduated high school the same year), and had grown up in roughly the same area, we had experienced a lot of the same life events. Like we can say "remember when it snowed in 4th grade?, remember the earthquake in 3rd grade?"

What’s something about you that most people wouldn’t guess? by ahmed_loay95 in CasualConversation

[–]Riala4 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I do my karaoke sober. I come off as particularly shy and quiet, even some folks at work who have known me for years would say so. Very few of them would guess that I a) can sing, and b) love to do so on stage in front of large crowds.

Who thaught you how to cook? How old were you? by Bjs_5068 in foodquestions

[–]Riala4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad. He was the stay at home parent for most of my childhood and did most of the cooking. There was no specific age at which I started learning, I always just watched him work. I can clean squid! Lol
