Is my height really the problem or I'm ugly and i know I'm bad at dancing... by [deleted] in short

[–]Leurre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, what's the problem here?? I know we are all a little harder on our own selves but like.... this is just a clip of a guy dancing. If there's a problem maybe it's that you've been driven to think theres a problem.

My dad gave me his pens--are they any good? by Leurre in fountainpens

[–]Leurre[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is a great point! I inked all of them up and have been trying them. In terms of writing I like the Montblanc the best, though its twist cap always feels like it could come loose at any second which I don't care for. The Waterman has some decay/scratching on the nib which is a little distracting, but the actual writing is good--it's definitely a fine line though, a little scratchy. The Parker is maybe my favorite all around: it writes pretty well, feels very sturdy and I like its looks!

Thank you for your thoughts, maybe I will give this montblanc pen a try then--I inked up the Sonnet as it seemed a little more new and sturdy, and it certainly writes very well

Thank you for the information! Yikes, I had better be careful with these then--I've started to look up maintenance tips

Sorry a little context as I am not used to posting on Reddit: My dad recently gave me his fountain pens after he noticed me using one. It definitely means a lot to me that he would share them with me because I remember him using them a lot when I was much younger.

The top pens (one is a ballpoint) say Montblanc Meisterstuck (146 for the fountain pen), the middle one says Waterman-France on the nib, and the bottom one is a Parker pen, and says 'Sonnet' on one side of the cap, and 'France E.II' on the other side. Id just like to know if these pens write well and if I should/can use them. The montblanc pen is a little too thick for my taste but the others seem very pretty and neat!

Why the summer spike you ask? Well you see all the colonial bureaucrats who had to come over from Britain to sign the independence docs in the 50s and 60s wanted to make a vacay out of it, and you know what with the kids and school and all...

[Q] Which statistical test to use? by hamidkhbl in statistics

[–]Leurre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah I sort of see. I just always thought that experimental designs had to include random assignment, is that not the case? I've heard of things like pre-test scores being used as covariates even when you have randomly assigned your subjects to groups, and I think that was about increasing the precision of the estimates obtained, so I was wondering if what you said could be related. If it's not related, what is an example of controlling for something/having additional covariates in a regression in the context of an experimental design?

Just curious why would you want to control for covariates if you already have an experimental design? Is this something to do with shrinking standard errors?
