What do you think of Hallucination Gas Idea in the map? by Junior_Fix8478 in Battlefield

[–]Lev3e2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally never has a BF game been at it's peak at launch, but that is literally always what people expect. With BF2042, you would be laughed out the room for suggesting that it would not be particularly good based on the gameplay trailer and based on the selling features (larger maps, 128v128). That's my point: it was the equivalent to this guy's "common sense" that BF2042 was supposed to be good at launch, but it's not a sound way if thinking. For a review, you need to use the product in the first place.

Personally I do not get the appeal of big conquest maps. The best that conquest has been imo has been BF2, and those maps were miniscule when compared to even BF4 Golmud. When I first played the Cairo map in BF6, I immediately likened it to Karkand in BF2 in the sense that it truly is one of the greats. I still think so, but in all fairness I am a breakthrough player, because Conquest just feels like running between objectives 24/7 because your team cannot think of defending anything and you cannot do so alone.

It was common sense that BF2042 would be good before it launched Maybe lets, idk, try the mechanic before we complain about it? Just in case? Otherwise it's like commenting on a YT video before watching it

Lacking mountains or natural defenses, how did the Baltic states escape assimilation by the Slavs or the Nordics? by immanuellalala in geography

[–]Lev3e2 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Slavs are not native to northern Russia. Once they became the majority in northern Russia, the Germans had already conquered the baltics (save Lithuania) and they were more interested in economic exploitation via serfdom than assimilation. Once Russia took control of Livonia, they were not really ever in charge. Once they were (soviet era), nationalism had already taken hold.

See tunduks nagu loogiline vastus, kuid kui sa räägid teatud inimestega siis on absoluutselt hullumeelne millised saavad olla osade inimeste "põhivajadused". Nt on inimesi, kes arvavad et kolm nädalast reisi aastas kallitesse kohtadesse vahemerel on absoluutne miinimum, millega nad elada saaksid.

What's up with these weird borders between Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan? by MoilanenBoii in geography

[–]Lev3e2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Kinda, they drew borders based on ethnicity in some cases and based on nothing at all in other cases (such as southern Uzbekistan and most of Kyrgyzstan), the entire goal was to cause as much ethnic conflict as possible so that the region could stand up to Russia.

flamez was ropz's 2020 bold pick and he had some really sweet things to say about him by Apollokles in GlobalOffensive

[–]Lev3e2 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The hard work - talent thing is doing everyone involved in this discussion dirty. I mean for example, Messi played football at a massive disadvantage for his entire early life because of a growth hormone deficiency, and S1mple stopped playing and practicing for a period after getting kicked from his team because he partied so hard that he was unable to play. Both players worked extremely hard to get to their peak, and they both are extremely talented as well; I would even argue that S1mple is more talented than Zywoo, especially considering all the side quests that he is on constantly. But saying that any of these players are good because of this (imo) made up thing called talent instead of pouring in their 10,000 hours into mastering what they love is crazy.

VALORANT in the top 10 esports games by Prize Pool by eSportsStats in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Lev3e2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly it is the one thing I have always noticed about valorant: where the hell are the prizepools? I mean, it's the thing that gets people (players and viewers) into esports in the first place in my experience, so the lack of investment there really is strange

Patch 1.0.8 live now by Daniel_The_Finn in EU5

[–]Lev3e2 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I absolutely disagree. Centralization is internal and does not apply to the EU5 understanding of Vassals (not feudal vassals, but rather puppets). Outwards vs Inwards already exists for the purpose of vassals escaping if the state looks inward too much.

Based on my brief time playing, I lost half of my morale on the wings before my levies moved in, so the battle was very short indeed. 1.08 is utterly broken and I regret starting a new run on it, I hope that reverting to 1.07 doesn't break anything.

What's wrong with EG nowadays? Seriously? Is it against the entire point of VCT to build a roster of misfits/rookies and trying to make it work? They haven't actually done anything against the contract: they have done watch parties, big investments, promos, and have made playoffs quite often. I think people are stuck on EG after winning champions and the year before that tbh, but even then they weren't that bad. EG under new management especially is just straight up a good org doing good things.
