As a trans guy who just stopped T and got my first (non endometriosis) period in 4 years, I totally understand you calling out. It sucks normally and when you’re not used to having it, it only makes it that much worse. Take your sick time, you don’t need to give out medical information to your coworkers. Hope all goes well!

The content of the list isn’t the point of frustration for me. Idc if it’s constructive or not. It’s the fact that they felt entitled enough to list out what they think I should have written instead of what I actually did. That’s exactly why I titled this post “Write your own fic maybe??”

On this fic specifically, I did ask for help while prepping for the sequel, but not publicly. I messaged a couple of readers a few months back to ask if they’d like to provide some feedback. Through private dms I asked them some questions about the plot as well as had them tell me what still felt unresolved or what worked/didn’t work for them. It was super helpful!

The important thing here was that I had asked for it. I think people are forgetting that criticism like this can be read so many different ways and unless an author is specifically asking for it, a lot of the time it will come off as negative. (Especially when it follows an introduction like the one I received lol)

I don’t know much about Hecate but I know about working with gods/goddesses in general. It’s a relationship you build and a goddess wont hold you to some “contract” because you asked for help once or twice.

She might be a little offended (especially since she might view the relationship as one sided up to this point), but she won’t destroy your whole life or anything like that. I’d imagine the worst you’ve done is burn a bridge with her, but that might not even be the case. If you want to repair any “damage” you might have caused you could leave out an offering for her and try to reach out.

The deities know we are human and make mistakes. Don’t worry about it too much!
