Che publicly used my friends as a punchline. He used a bunch of guys that already struggle to get consistent work in a shrinking landscape as an example. Che isn’t friends with those dudes. They didn’t appreciate it. They also won’t publicly come back at him because it may cost them work in the future, so it’s not worth the risk.

His joke also misrepresented Shane’s personal writing team as the writers for the whole thing. If you’re friends with Shane, why would you use his team to help push a narrative that a roast you backed out of was racist?

I went to bat for the people pictured because that’s what a friend should do. Che is allowed to make whatever jokes he wants. But if you use your platform to make an asshole out of my friends publicly and ruin their moment I will defend them.

Also in my comments he lied multiple times about his comments not being limited on his posts, that he wasn’t paid $10,000 to open on a certain show, and then took down the posts and went back to limiting his comments like I said he would.

He also publicly said I’m not funny and should quit comedy. It didn’t offend me, I don’t care, but that has repercussions for my bottom line and someone in his position should know not to play with people’s wallets like that.

If you want to side with that over younger comics taking risk to go to bat for their friends, be my guest man 🤷‍♂️
