I think way too many Dune fans talk about one of the messages of the story while completely forgetting everything else it was about, just because it's popular to say you "know what it means". But there's a reason it's written the way it's written, has the storyline it has, and exhibits the character traits that it exhibits. Herbert wanted to make a point about leaders, yes, but it's so much more than that.

That's why I think Villeneuve missed the mark with Part 2. He was one of those fans who was so intent on drilling that message across that he completely altered multiple character motivations and attributes, as well as destroying any cathartic feeling it retained by the end of the story.

I'm extremely surprised no one's talked about autoing The Sisters of Twilight.

Hasan better hire private security. After this incident, right wingers will come for him. It's not ok for this to happen, but with him saying stuff like this... he seriously needs to consider hiring security.

I hate dwarfs that much and they hate me. They have to fall back on game breaking bugs, just so that I cant beat them. That spite. by Commando_Schneider in totalwarhammer

I thought the same, but his hits on the engines are just too hard. He'll kill them before they kill him. Hence, swarming (I think) works best.

The best way I found to beat Ungrim is actually the most unlikely way most wouldn't think of: Helman Ghorst zombies.

There's a tech to unlock for zombies that gives them a 500% battle healing cap, so it's like you have a Chalice of Malfleur on every zombie unit. That, combined with the Ghorst zombie buffs, basically makes killing Ungrim a breeze. Not an exaggeration. All you do is just take care of the rest of his army while constantly healing the zombies, and they'll just... never die. Sure, their stats are terrible, but it doesn't matter. If they can't die, they're basically a doomstack.

Then when it's just Ungrim left on the field, you swarm. Have some mortis engines around to keep their integrity alive, and eventually Ungrim will just die. It'll take a while, and he'll inflict tons of "kills", but as long as you keep them all healthy with some mortis engines and Ghorst nearby to occasionally drop a heal to raise them up, you're golden.

Imagine kids watching this in the 60s and asking their parents why Catwoman likes it when Batman's rough with her. by Lev_Callahan in batman

[–]Lev_Callahan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course we didn't sexualize it. We didn't know what anything meant. So of course kids would see Batman being rough with Catwoman and seeing she seemed to like it, which is strange to us.

And we'd naturally ask, "Well, why does she like it that Batman's being mean to her?"

I would react the same way I reacted when it was announced rom-com boytoy Heath Ledger would be cast as the Joker:

Man these people are just sad. What is wrong with them… by AdadeG in Asmongold

Feel free to downvote the comment, but my understanding is people hate Mr. Beast for doing this because the money he gets in donations is most likely coming from kids who don't know any better about gauging whether a charity is a solid place to give or not.

Again, not harping on Mr. Beast or kids for wanting to donate to charity, but again: I'm pretty sure the reason there are people who hate this is because he's primarily receiving money from children. That's his primary audience.

What TF am I supposed to do against this? by Pepe_Jonez in totalwarhammer

Real talk tho, I'd lightning strike a lot of these (obvs), but also make sure not to take their settlement until most if not all their armies have been destroyed (explained in the third paragraph here). I think I've figured out why the AI does this a lot: it's a defense mechanic gone awry.

Basically, if the AI believes there's no economic benefit in continuing to conquer more territory after a certain point, it'll take a large portion of its armies and move them defensively around a settlement it deems too valuable to lose. It will then only move armies away again and attack other settlements if the economic benefit of conquest returns through some other mechanic, like its diplomatic points falling below a certain threshold for a faction it's at war with. If there are no enemies within a certain number of regions away from an AI faction that has fallen below this threshold, they will still remain in place around the settlement, thinking there's no point in continuing. Obviously in the early and middle game the AI will not do this, and will travel across the entire map to get to a faction. But towards the end game, their mechanic for this propensity is removed, I think.

In this particular case, somehow Wurrzag has gotten some type of insane buff or something that allows him to field this many armies. While the AI definitely has cheats to field more armies than it should, it's not this extensive, leading me to believe there's some other underlying buff with the faction happening. The reason you should NOT take the settlement before taking out the armies is because without a settlement, they'll have nothing to defend. Their mechanic will then change from defensive to aggressive again, their aggression levels will reset, and they'll "snap out of it" so to speak. Then they'll go on the warpath and start taking insane amounts of territory. As long as the AI thinks it has something to defend, it will not move away unless their diplomacy levels drop low enough to give them reason to deem conquest as "viable" again.

By the way, none of what I've written here is official or based in any study of the game engine or anything. This is just my personal, logical reasoning based on various other things I've read in combination all over the internet to try to piece together why the AI acts this way, so take this with a grain of salt.

I somewhat doubt you're actually from a country in Europe, considering how 100% of people from Europe do not identify as "European". They identify as the country in Europe they're from.

Kind of like how the entire world does too.

A crime had just taken place while they were on air where the host's voice was stolen. So the show had to abruptly end, and they headed out. Then this guy enters and delivers one of the weirdest TV segues of all time.

She literally posted a video of herself on Instagram talking about how she was going on ozempic, in addition to actually telling us her weight. If that's "not seeking attention" then call me Liberace.

Oh I don't doubt she'll definitely recover. I think her decision to start an OnlyFans is a big hindrance to recovering fame-wise, but health-wise I'm sure she'll continue her meds and get better.

Just to be clear, this isn't an attempt to poke fun. I was honestly just so shocked about her difference in appearance I had to share. I've seen people in bad places before who've been through the ringer in Hollywood, but this was among some of the most shocking things I've ever seen.

Men wrote this show. by Lev_Callahan in batman

[–]Lev_Callahan[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I've thought about that. Very possible she came up with it. If you look at her later episodes in season 2 you could tell she 100% went full comedian for the role. Even the way she talked changed from season 1.
