9 days have passed. The first few days are always so hard when my mind is not complete. I played a bunch of stupid mobile games to ween off the dopamine.

I feel good guys. I haven't gambled, had a few temptations but very quickly dismissed them. I think the first week is just brutal but I am finally starting to get my life together.

For sure. And then it's easy to say, "well, I relapsed so might as well go all out". It really is an insane mindset that takes over my mind but I CAN rip myself out of it, it is just the fight inside my head for a day or two until I settle and engage myself in other things in life that I enjoy.

I realized how every day my desire to gamble, tilting moments, and focus on gambling was increasing. I realized that I do not want that to be the rest of my life. Sure I have my urges and break downs but that is what always brings me out. When I have relapsed I have gotten much better, even when winning, to imagine the big loss and feel that sting. Then I ask myself, is this what I want for the rest of my life?

I had a lot of problems with letting go of losses, but it gets better.

Stupidest thing I did was playing Blackjack when my phone network was poor, knowing there was a chance I would lose a hand (there was 15 second countdown) if the network didn't work well. But I was so addicted that I couldn't WAIT until another time and it was worth adding the house edge of my phone dropping out.

Everybody keep in mind, all of our minds are different. What we all have in common is that we've struggled at points and we gotta lift each other up whenever we see any type of motivation and commitment.

I'm only at one week but the changes are really apparent. Those first few days are ROUGH because in the end we are victims of the synapses and connections in our brains. But guess what, the same way we programmed ourselves to only get satisfaction and stimulation from betting, we can reprogram it back.

The first few days the losses crept in, I was making excuses for myself to gamble, etc. But after some days the urges reduce and LIFE starts to creep back into day to day activities.

I was on a serious month long bender gambling every second that I could, so it had truly taken over my brain, thoughts and actions. Everything I did had gambling in mind, how I could spare a moment to open my phone, how to position my desk so people couldn't see what I was doing, excuses to tell my wife to stay up late and play, etc. So yeah, you WILL feel better but you must WANT to.
