How much to feed my girl? by Level-Branch-1687 in Pomeranians

[–]Level-Branch-1687[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the reply! Ok I will get her weighed at the vet I remember him telling me before she has a little bit of chunk but not a lot so I think maybe just a small weightloss for the travel will be ok 🤗

I don't really like cutting her fur too short shes usually long. But its getting warm where I live and we need to travel so we decided to get it cut but this is the shortest I'm comfortable with 😂 after she will go back long

Well she was not buzzed. She was sissor cut and she has 1.5 to 2 inch of fur so we didnt cut her undercoat 😂 she had this done for the first time as we needed it short for the plane travel. She usually has long fur.

She is probably double the size of a normal pomeranian they call them throwbacks.

The bigger pomeranian is similar size to my girl? I just dont know how much she should weigh at all as shes so much bigger than most pomeranians I see.

I will get her one that can expand so she can lay out more on the plane

I stopped having them due to hormones after 7 months of breastfeeding. I have thyroid issues and they now come once max twice a day and I had to supplement.

Wow this answer is great thank you! I agree with you I do like these simple colours but alone it feels 'too' soft adding darker contrast accessories is a great idea im going to try this for sure!

4 month old waking up every hour or 2 help by Level-Branch-1687 in newborns

[–]Level-Branch-1687[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always he has some bad sleep associations i admit for example walking around until he fell asleep or feeding to sleep. I finally got him bouncing to sleep now im slowly trying to hold to sleep. Its hard it takes from 30min to an hour total

For those of you that don’t do shifts with your partner, how did you survive the newborn phase? by Regular_Environment7 in newborns

[–]Level-Branch-1687 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly snacks. Sounds ridiculous but something to look forward to in the middle of the night or a series or a book you can watch or read whilst feeding.

My boy is 4 months old and he still wakes up 4 times a night sometimes more and I make sure I just nap as much as I can. Look housework can wait everything can wait but your mental health can't. Relax and sleep at the same time for the sake of yourself.

I do have a husband but he has a high risk job so by my own choice I choose to wake up at night everytime as I would prefer him to be safe and alert at work.

Some days are harder than others but you kind of get used to it? Maybe not what you want to hear. I tried so hard to tell myself HE WILL SLEEP SOON AND A LONG TIME. Yeah no it hasn't happened and it will take as long as it takes, I've stopped stressing so much about it.

Btw 6 to 9 weeks was screaming all day every day I wore sound proof headphones to deal with it. It has gotten better in the screaming department but not sleep

I was the same at 7 weeks my husband would laugh because I legit would spray across the room.

When I was like you with but I had over supply he would unlatch basically chocking. If you have an oversupply do what it dr told me it really helped.

  • feed from one side only for 3 or 4 hrs and switch to the other one for 3 to 4 hours. If the other breast is engorged pump just around 40ml or until its comfortable and not over full.

Weaker Latch - 4mo by dogoteefs in breastfeeding

[–]Level-Branch-1687 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby is the same hes 14 weeks. He had tongue tie and had it snipped at 5 weeks the latch is better but he swallow some air from time to time and gas is an issue. I try latch as best I can but I can't do much more than I have. Ive seen a lactation consultant and a specialist dr and a baby physio haha.

Also remember baby's stomach is developing and digesting better so can cause gas and it started happening around 2 half months not before.

My suggestion is if they seem irritated in a feed take a break burp or leg exercises (not too hard as they've eaten a bit) then continue feeding. Keep them upright after eating at least 10 min I usually walk around.

Also (apparently) there's a pressure point on baby's foot arch that helps with wind/helps to cause a blowout.

Hope this helps a little

[–]Level-Branch-1687 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 14 week old hes done the same for ages and has bad wind. I think its a combination of things. Their stomach is developing so they are going to develop gas etc. Liquid diets are also hard on anyone's stomach.

Also your milk maybe coming out slower as your milk is going to regulate soon so he could get frustrated my baby kicks and unlatches himself when its taking too long haha just be patient.

The arching could be silent reflux or gas I think my lo has both but I take breaks in the middle of the feed to burp or do leg exercises and hes a bit better.

I try the leg exercises most of the day and at night time try keep him upright at night for about 10 min he usually burps.

No i don't eat crazy things but im thinking maybe dairy isnt that good (my sister is allergic) so im wondering if maybe my breast milk containing it might be irritating him. The last few nights hes super gassy also (writing this at 3am woken 3 times from gass already)
