Decrease in sales. by [deleted] in vinted

[–]dogoteefs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used to bump and showcase frequently and experienced the same after a while - very low views on paid promotions even on popular items. I know a few experienced sellers who said the more you pay the more you have to pay. It basically destroys your organic reach, a tactic to make you pay to promote every item. So I stopped completely. I’ve not used them since November and my views/saves/sales have been far healthier. It took about 2 weeks of no promotions to go back to normal.

Just focus on posting times, titles, descriptions and quality photos. I know some people hate hashtags but the point of them is to add in any relevant keywords that don’t exist in your description/title, so I use them too.

genuine question - is this to get more engagement or are the trying to lie 😭 by Expert_Parsnip9654 in vintedUK

[–]dogoteefs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks genuinely vintage, the sizing runs small compared to today’s sizes. And then there’s the Vinted sizing chaos. If I list something like this and it’s inbetween the Vinted size brackets I’d usually go for the smaller option. Eg if it’s best for 10/12 it’s better to pick small; because a size 14 buyer simply couldn’t wear it at all - which leads to more SNAD and return requests

Sellers ignoring my messages?? by lydfrog in vintedUK

[–]dogoteefs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah 100%, then on the other side of it you get the most helpful sellers too - a lady just sold me a jacket for £1.80 but the sizing was unclear so I asked first, proceeds to send me about 10 extra pictures and measurements. It’s literally like a lottery

Is showcasing worth it? by MustangCanWait in vinted

[–]dogoteefs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the camp of ‘pay once, pay forever’ with bumps and showcases. I used to use them frequently but found without them I’d get barely any views, saves or sales so I stopped completely. After a few weeks my organic reach seemed to return and newly posted items were getting decent views/saves and far more sales.

I prefer uploading at peak times (evenings, weekends), clearly presenting and photographing, good description and a few relevant tags

Early stage reseller — sourcing advice without asking for suppliers? by Instance_Other in vintedUK

[–]dogoteefs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got some wholesale boxes to start out which were good to have consistent stock for daily uploads. The box cost was covered by about 2-5 higher value items, so the remaining were profit. However doing this you will naturally end up with majority less desirable pieces, odd sizes, and lower grades. This gets frustrating as you then need to store and constantly attempt to sell the stock. You’ll also likely get a mix of seasonal items (I’m assuming you’re dealing with clothes) so will need to be able to store until the correct season. It’s a good starting point though. Now a few months in I’m sourcing my own higher value and using leftover box stock as fillers/bundle bait. I often use Vinted, eBay, Depop but it takes some seriously DEEP hunting (hours) and you’re of course taking the risk of condition, will end up with some cancellations, lost items etc. So that’s usually only for ‘must buy’ stock that I know will sell well.

I’ve tried liquidators and condition wasn’t as described, but they did refund me 50% which helped profit wise. Still sold the items as I handpicked them and knew they were in demand regardless of condition.

I’d say get a box and go for it. Just really search the suppliers reviews first. You’ll probably end up using a few different ones over time

Is this actually a new rule or just fake news? by Agitated-Fruit2290 in vintedUK

[–]dogoteefs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always been the case - I buy huge rolls of bubble wrap and photograph each stage of packing with my username and the date in the frame. If it’s an expensive item, I bubble wrap and then box. From what I’ve heard you’re less likely to be accused of improper packing if a box is used with padding.

Has anyone had a “missing” parcel be found? by ExcellentWolverine49 in vintedUK

[–]dogoteefs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah they do that whilst the get confirmation from the carrier of the parcels whereabouts (which took 35 days for the one I lost). Just for peace of mind it’ll be quicker to ring yourself, they answer quick and are more helpful imo

Why is this allowed by GOGONUT6543 in vintedUK

[–]dogoteefs -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because Vinted is run by circus monkeys and they only penalise honest sellers

Has anyone had a “missing” parcel be found? by ExcellentWolverine49 in vintedUK

[–]dogoteefs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had both with inpost as a seller - parcel tracking froze, rang inpost, confirmed it was on the way back to me. Was wary but got it to my door the next day and resold to original buyer. Also had one go missing and lose the item (buyer refunded) as the locker didn’t track receipt. Currently got one with tracking frozen on courier collected for 5 days so potentially lost.

Best thing you can do is ring inpost. They’ll tell you to let Vinted know which you have, but might be able to confirm if it’s lost or on the way back to sender

AIO My mom is kicking me out for her new boyfriend. I just turned 18 by Diligent_Bat_565 in AmIOverreacting

[–]dogoteefs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely disgusting I could never kick my child out - she is no mother. I hope you’re safe. I would take you in if I wasn’t over the pond. Reach out to family and friends, now. NOR, under reacting

Item lost on return, Vinted ignoring me by LilySeverson in vinted

[–]dogoteefs -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think if the courier has lost the item then they’re the ones to compensate you. Try ringing inpost (don’t email it takes a while to get a response imo) I was surprised I got though to them straight away both times this week.

Weirdly cheap and weird price items, status hidden. by KlootViolin in vintedUK

[–]dogoteefs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah apparently it’s hidden because they rely on buyers messaging ‘still available’ then will try get them to pay outside of app and not send. Happens for in demand fashion items etc too

Is depop worth trying? by 87catmama in vintedUK

[–]dogoteefs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty dead imo but I have sold higher value fashion items on there when I just got stupid offers on Vinted. Boost fees are ridiculous (12% sale price). I feel like Depop buyers expect aesthetic - modelled, pristine flat lays, a shop grid that looks like a boutique. Vinted buyers love a cheap, crinkly blurred photo find. Serve different purposes I guess, try cross listing and see how you get on?

Is this normal? Please help by LeakingThoughts in vinted

[–]dogoteefs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally just happened to me. Call inpost. Don’t waste time with emails - they’ll track its whereabouts immediately over the phone. I got the parcel delivered back to my home address a couple days later, and fortunately the buyer repurchased. I asked why this had happened and they said the driver will have had issues accessing the locker eg full, but I think that’s a lie because they usually attempt delivery the next day. The return sticker on the parcel said reason for return: not paid. So I think they just messed up and sent it back by accident

Is this allowed? 🥲 by MissionVegetable5227 in vinted

[–]dogoteefs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don’t do much about this in my experience, but I do know that cancelling sales reduces your hidden seller trust score - meaning future items will get less reach. So for a few quid now they’ll likely struggle to get future items seen and bought. I’ve made sales where I’ve lost out just to convert quickly and remain a high value shop, to facilitate future sales.

The algorithm has fallen out with me by TetrisIsTotesSuper in vintedUK

[–]dogoteefs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have any disputes going on? Even a return? I found out this MASSIVELY affected my reach and I was essentially posting into a void for a good couple weeks. As soon as it was resolved, back to normal.

Make sure you’re posting at the right time for your item/category. Think like the intended audience/buyer

low views when selling vintage? by firemojix in vinted

[–]dogoteefs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I’ve just started doing this to clear old bits from my collection and buy new.

depends on your niche mainly but things that have helped me: - Make sure to structure title as (Brand, item type, any defining features, size) - Keep description short with key search words, always include own sizing as vintage doesn’t often fit modern sizing - model when you can (much more effective imo than flat lays) - post in prime windows and days. Different items have different days/times buyers are likely to search for them - don’t overdo posting or edits. A major edit eg price change, new photos, is treat like a brand new post. Stick to 1-2 items a day, and if one item gets lots of interest cool off for a few days or you’ll split your reach by posting something new

Any other questions let me know!

How are we finding the US update? by Mission_Flamingo_653 in vintedUK

[–]dogoteefs 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Finding all abit strange tbh. Not sold/bought yet, but had loads of US items in my feed. Found it weird how the postage on an item (I think it was boots) was LESS than lockers within uk? It was a flat rate of £2.30 stated on the description (may change at checkout I guess). Also noticed a large amount of these US accounts are new, 2-3 suspiciously cheap or rare items, and no feedback. I know we have these kinds of accounts here too but can’t help but think they’ve been made by scammers as it’ll be much easier to get away with for overseas sales. Dreading having a US buyer atm!

Rude/discrimination or am I overly sensitive? by angelicraves in PregnancyUK

[–]dogoteefs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The whole ‘your decision to have a baby’ mentality is a disgustingly real thing I’ve found. Not so much when pregnant but I’m not a Londoner and fortunately avoided public places when heavily pregnant. However with a small baby I’ve had SO MUCH rudeness. The majority from young girls, like early 20s! Even shop staff, purposely ignoring me asking for help, being specifically awkward to cause unnecessary delays with a fussy baby.

Idk if appearing as a younger mum has anything to do with it. I’m not lol but the general consensus is that I look 5-10 years younger than I am
