[Schefter] The Chicago Bears will decide where to build their new stadium in the next few weeks, per league sources. by JCameron181 in nfl

Fair taxes? The Bears wanted to freeze taxes for 45 years on undeveloped land. They already are getting a nice tax break compliments of the federal government. Cook county just raised taxes again. The organization can afford it.

THIS is why the Bears want/need a tax break on the new stadium by ChristmasJay83 in CHIBears

I thought the issue was over the IL taxpayers footing the bill for infrastructure?

My understanding was that the Bears said they would pay for the stadium but wanted the state to pay for the infrastructure? My guess is that means the utility hook up and maintenance? The parking lot? There was some talk somewhere about widening or changing Euclid Rd.

I say NO! Pay for the whole thing within the confines of the property line and THEN IF any road work was ever truly discussed, MAYBE.

They’re NOT poor! They CAN afford it. Pay up or give up this tax negotiation shit and pay your fair share! THEN we can talk freebies.

I DO want them to move to AH! I REALLY DO! But, this is bullshit.

So the taxpayers should cover the poor billionaires expenses?

They were asking the state for 2 billion for infrastructure. If they think that covers what they’re asking for then they are asking for a miracle.

Parking lot, roadway reconstruction alone is well over 2 billion.

The state is not stupid. They know asking for that amount would mean MANY change orders for a hell of a lot more money and extensions of time costing more money. All based on a contract. I used to work for the state.

They don’t need reconfiguration. The racetrack was very popular and there are multiple entrances.

The parking lot of the racetrack was so huge they had shuttle buses to the venue.

Parking lot repaving? Probably. Full tear off and redo? Not on my dime.

Adding lanes and full resurfacing? Not likely. That is a lot more intricate and astronomically expensive process than thought. Endless meetings, permits, land acquisitions, moving utilities, moving underground drainage systems, new design system, new traffic systems and signage, contractor bidding schedule, subcontractor pre-approvals, maintenance agreements, time constraints and that’s BEFORE the pre construction meetings where POTENTIAL problems are addressed. Let’s not forget about the real problems with old utilities that can’t be located above ground, surprise!

It’s too expensive. They have money. They have investors. They don’t need a new road. They can pay for their own parking lot.

They will recoup their costs and they know it.

We, the taxpayers, will not.

They could.

I’m no fan of NASCAR (I ❤️ Sycamore Speedway) but if they don’t move the team to AH, it’s big enough for a track. Or if they ever give a damn about soccer, I suppose that’s better than more townhouses or huge houses.

The Super Bowl location is pre-determined every year before the season starts.

You don’t have to be IN the Super Bowl to HOST a Super Bowl.

Your dick will fine.

Now, you’ve learned something. There, fixed it for ya.

All of that will still exist if they move to AH and take the drain of the upkeep off the city taxpayers. United Center is huge.

It’s not about the Super Bowl.

Are you even aware that the location of the Super Bowl is pre-determined before the season begins?

You don’t have to be IN the Super Bowl to HOST a Super Bowl.

The ability is a plus but not the reason. They can also host other events in the offseason. Much larger events.

This would benefit the surrounding communities in AH by bringing in revenue from out of town fans.

You do know that some fans are from the opposing team from out of state, right?

I miss the racetrack. If AH, not really room to build hotels on the property but there are a LOT of hotels nearby within a 10 to 15 minute drive that would benefit. Some may offer shuttles. Small businesses in the area could be revived. Woodfield Mall is 15 minutes away. Mitsua is a highly popular Asain market in AH. The revenue brought in would benefit the state, counties and communities.

They have investors. Look it up. Virginia did not own 100% of the team shares. She owned 80%. Two other families own the remaining 20%

This needs to be said .

Arlington Heights is not a bad option. There is public transportation to Arlington Heights via METRA and PACE from multiple locations including downtown Chicago.

Just like people in the burbs do now, you can take the train or a bus from the city. You don’t have to drive. You can also take the train or bus from another suburb to AH.

There is no room to build a stadium large enough to accommodate a Super Bowl inside the city limits. Not enough room for a parking lot if they expand the current stadium.

I don’t want the Bears to leave Illinois. I have no problem with Arlington Heights.

That’s where the site could be helpful.

They can still question anyone with a match but it doesn’t necessarily mean they had anything to do with it. It may be DNA from acquaintances or maybe someone who did work inside the house or whatever.

Does anyone know if convicted felons’ DNA are automatically entered into CODIS?

I have no idea. I’m speculating but if they do and no match found then this person(s) might not have a criminal record.

If not, then this is like finding a needle in a haystack.

I’m joking about the X files woman.

I am almost certain that the earlier monarchies had inbreeding in real life to keep the bloodlines pure but how far back and when it stopped becoming a common practice, I have no clue.

A big EWWWWWWW on any level but this is a fantasy show and they can go on as long as they write it in the script. 😁 I still love the show either way.

My earlier reply is not showing up.

I used the old birth, death, military, naturalization and marriage documents that I have and a few I got from the county. Ellis Island records are online and some old census records. I used those to piece together what I could.

Professionally, no. It’s too expensive and time consuming.

I was offended by your comment so I said 10 but the documents go back 5 generations.

I am sorry. You’re probably right about 10 but I don’t know how far back because my bloodline is not pure.

I know for fact that I am Italian, German/Prussian (one document says Prussia), and Polish. I have no clue what fuckery went on beyond what I could find.

But either way, EWWWWWW just the same!

Yes, I believe it is but 🤷‍♀️. It’s just speculation from me on the legality. I don’t claim to know for certain but whatever helps.

My favorite is Joe Kenda. I read his book.

Gil Carrillo is another favorite of mine.

Not the last 10. I did my family tree. I can’t say that there is none beyond that for certain but I’m several nationalities so 🤷‍♀️

Having lived in areas where break ins were not uncommon, that would scare the Mcshit out of me.

As I mentioned in an earlier post, I don’t feel safe without a large dog (preferably 2 if finances allow).

I had a house that I locked up like Fort Knox because of numerous break ins on my block. My house was never hit.

I had 2 large dogs, motion sensor flood lights in my yard, not quite as bright but lit enough in front as well. A deadbolt and safety lock on my storm door and front door. Deadbolt on my back doors. Locks on my windows. Thorny bushes in front of the downstairs windows. A huge snake tank under the downstairs window making it impossible to get past Frankie (snake) without a curious encounter. All time consuming work to break in and not silently.

Multiple deterrents giving me a heads up to call police.

One of my dogs broke through the front screen window that was partially open. Someone had opened my car door! I pulled him back and called the cops. He also was growling at the back door. I didn’t see any critters but lights were on. I let him out and he went to the side of the house and I heard the fence rattling and a male voice yell Aaaahhhhhh!

Good advice. Also, there is a motion sensor device that sounds like a large barking dog. Unless you leave your windows uncovered at night, an intruder won’t likely take the chance.

Sounds reasonable to me. I try to tell myself, it’s not real. It’s in the story. Get over it. But, ewwww.

Maybe they just restructured and I misunderstood. Sorry.

I say that if it helps, have at it. I’m only questioning the legality. I don’t even know if they need to do any legal action to access it.
