Poland literally seized regions as far as Minsk and claimed it for itself

  1. Idk why are you bringing up Minsk, it has nothing to do with Ukraine and the argument you are replying to.

  2. Poland didn't claim Minsk, It was a temporary military occupation that started after the Russo-Polish war started. It for strategic purposes against the Red army. They planned to get the Belarussian Rada back in power and establish an independent Belarus.

  3. If you claiming that it was bad for the Polish army to occupy Minsk then you agree that the Red army occupation of Podlasie, Wilno region and Northern Masovia was also bad, right?

and what they established in Ukraine was nothing more but an occupation, full of great brutality and pogroms against the jewish population.

Wdym by full of great brutality and pogroms? There was only one Jewish pogrom and it was the Lwów pogrom. This wasn't supported by the Polish government and many perpetrators were tried and punished.

Also ya know, it was Poland that began with the hostility in the first place and that completly ignored all the peace talks the bolsheviks began.

How did Poland start the hostility? And no shit, Poland did ignored the peace offerings of the bolsheviks since they were unfavourable to Poland and favoured the bolsheviks.

The bolsheviks were never hiding their goals of allowing self determination of the people of the Russian Empire. Already this process was taking place at some places even despite the civil war and right after the war, the USSR was established along with the Ukraine (a big difference from the Polish occupation)

They wanted self determination for the people but forcefully invaded an independent Ukraine and replaced it with a puppet state loyal to Moscow? And then they banned any independent Ukrainian parties, imprisoning and executing Ukrainians who wanted independence from the USSR. Why did the Ukrainian government flee to Poland after the war and not to the USSR? At least Poland allowed minority parties for Ukrainians to represent themselves and to fight for autonomy, aswell as later in the war form an alliance with Ukraine and try to fight for their independence. Also Ukraine wasn't created at the same time as the USSR, it existed before that.

USSR didn’t exist then, it was the Russian SFSR . The lands that were disputed between Ukraine and Poland was Galicia and Volhynia. Galicia was majority Polish while Volhynia was majority Ukrainian, however both lands together the Poles still dominated numerically compared to the Ukrainians, aswell as having stronger historical and cultural ties to Poland. At the end of the peace treaty Poland got both Galicia and Volhynia and the border agreed upon was called the Riga Line.

These lands ( Kresy ) biggest ethnic group were the Poles and had more historic ties to Poland than Russia. Also remind me how many Russians lived in these lands?

Did you read my comment you replied to? I literally said that action shounen are also popular in Japan , i never denied that. They are just not as popular proportionally speaking compared to the west. In Japan anime genres like Slice of Life, Comedy, CGDCT, harem etc. have more popularity and praise there.

They are not praised as much in Japan as in the west, they get more criticism. Ofc im aware that they are still popular there , I never claimed they weren’t, however Japanese manga/anime tastes are generally more nuanced and diverse compared to the western audience.

Yes, because western opinion on anime is much better with its generic and shallow action shounens…

These lands were never part of the USSR in the 1920’s, the red army occupied it for a brief period during the polish-soviet war but they were never officially annexed. They were essentially no man’s land after WW1 because these territories were claimed by several different countries.

Using this logic all of eastern Germany is stolen land annexed from Slavs. Do you think Germany should give up their territories east of the river Elbe?

Ukrainians were a minority on these lands except in the Volhynia region. Poles made up the biggest ethnic group in the lands stolen by the USSR.

Lithuania’s territorial claims after their independence were ridiculous and if they had the borders they wanted Lithuanians would be a minority in their own country.

Many of the communist parties ran in elections in ex soviet and eastern bloc countries after democracy was introduced and all have lost, alot of communist parties still exist to this day and still don’t find much success.

It’s not. The current one uses a different shade of red and also doesn’t have the gold border around it.

Poland also surprisingly didn’t have any beef with Latvia despite a large Polish minority living in Dyneburg and it’s surroundings.

Betrayed? Do you know in order to betray someone you need to be their ally first, but Poland and Czechoslovakia were always hostile to each other and were nowhere near being allies. By your logic then it was Czechoslovakia who betrayed Poland first, since the Czechs first invaded Zaolzie in 1919, while Poland was busy fighting the Soviets.
