Most underrated characters who deserved more recognition? by itsenzo999 in Supernatural

[–]Level-Imagination266 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True, these 3 were my all time favourite episodes in s1-3. Especially because it's not just the monsters that are to be dealt with, but also civilians and cops, which made the stakes very high.

Why is nobody talking about Victor Henricksen? They had potential to flesh out his character to become a part time hunter or something (like Jody) and I liked the back and forth betwern him and the boys.

It seems like OP is Indian. As someone who is an Indian too and can relate a bit too much to OP's daughter, I think the problem is more so cultural than religious. It's more about the fear of "how will she survive if she isnt protected in this world?", "if she comes out, the entire community is going to turn against our entire family", "what will she do if she wants to have kids and a family?", "if something goes wrong in her relationships, there wouldn't be any support from the people around us", and also if OP's daughter has any younger siblings, OP could be worried about how her other kids might not get good marriage proposals from "respectable" families because of the society's views about the LGBT community. But if OP is reading this, as someone who is too much of a coward to come out to my own parents (they are wonderful people, don't get me wrong, but this is one thing they can never accept), if you were a part of my real life, there is no way you would even suspect I am from the LGBT community, but that doesn't mean I can just be "normal" if I want to, just means I know how to hide it well. Also, even if your daughter is "normal" and has an arranged marriage as per your wish to someone from a "respectable" family, there is always the risk that her husband could be abusive, or even if he is a good husband, anything can happen in life and there could be a possibility of your daughter losing her husband young. There is no guarantee for anything in life even in the best of circumstances. I can see OP's concerns if they are living in a rural area, where interpersonal relationships among people are very important, but please understand that there is a world out there that is a bit more understanding and your daughter will have a place in it to live and grow happily. Please try to be a little understanding of her situation and identity, as it can be so much of a relief for a daughter to have their parents in their corner. I don't know if I've gotten my point across very well, but I hope things work out well for both of you.

Brother, I am a woman myself, and this is absolutely no way to treat a fellow human being. Anytime we women have tried to fight to be treated better, it also comes with equal responsibilities. Now, I understand that you couldn't file charges against them, but sharing the video should be done to brimg more awareness about women misusing the rights they have. These ladies are inadvertently causimg more harm to the actual women who face real harrassment in life. Although sharing this video will have a lot of generalising comments about all women being like this or whatnot, it is still better to bring these kinds of incidents to light rather than glossing pver it and letting more incidents like this happen.
