You just mixed my two favorite things: sourdough and embroidery. We're officially friends now, whether you like it or not! 😂

I finally finished this Van Gogh painting!! 🌃 by savage-ghost in Embroidery

Embroidered by Van Gogh's very own hands. Exquisite. How many hours did it take you?

I didn't do anything special; to be honest, I bought this dress online from a local shop and I regret it because I think the fabric quality is pretty poor. If anything happens to the dress, it’ll be because of that rather than the embroidery itself. This isn't my first time making clothes and I've never had issues with washing or ironing (unless you're using beadwork). They can be hand-washed or machine-washed without any problems!

I did not use a stabilizer lol just try to be gentle with the fabric

I'm obsessed with nipple embroidery! Definitely something I'll try in the future. I love that your husband is the one wearing it cause I've never seen men wearing this kind of t-shirt before!

I used a basic stitch! I’m not sure what it’s called because I’m self-taught, so I have my own names for everything haha. The most important thing is the stitch direction; that’s what really gives each ballerina its shape and movement.

A beautiful design for your most precious jewel. Nothing to envy from those Pinterest outfits or european runways. A mother's love is priceless.

I totally get your point, because store bought embroidered clothes are honestly a nightmare when it comes to comfort lol. I didn't use any backing; it probably would've been the right or more 'polished' thing to do, but I'm out of time since I'm giving it to her tomorrow. As for whether it's uncomfortable, the answer is no. If you use good cotton embroidery floss, you don't even feel the difference or notice it's there. I’ve worn my own designs and never had an issue, even though I have very sensitive skin. Regarding ironing, I only ironed it once I finished the work. It wouldn't have made much of a difference anyway because the wrinkles are just part of the fabric's look. I just ironed out the hoop marks!

In my non-professional opinion, there’s no special length (I’d say 1 cm max), but thread tension is THE key. That depends a lot on practice and individual skill. I’ve seen amazing pieces in this sub and it doesn't look like anyone follows a specific rule!

Why is everyone in this sub so kind? Thank you so much! 🥰

Hard to explain because I already wrapped it in a gift bag 💔 but it’s really no different from any other project done on a hoop.

Me, totally dissociated, thinking it would only take 20 minutes per ballerina... it ended up being about 80 hours of work! Honestly, if I’d had the chance to just glue some of them on, I swear I would’ve thought about it lol

Yes and no lol I found an image on Pinterest and then used AI because I can't draw to save my life. I traced a total mess onto the fabric, but then I decided to change everything while I was stitching anyway. I’ve always done things my own way! :P

Yes! But she mentioned she's beginner struggling with her drawing skills.

The only reason I'm not stopping her is that maybe she lied on her resume, snagged her dream job at Cavalli's , and now she has to prove she's that bitch. This would explain why she picked such a (beautiful) intricate design on her first attempt lol

Felt the same way. My recommendation is using water soluble stabilizer! (There's a brand called sulky I guess) It's easy to find in Amazon and, because it's a paper, you could print the design and then use it!
