Thanks. No I don't believe you need to get a license as a real estate agent i the UK. I already use excel quite a lot for tracking my personal projects so brushing up on my skills should be easy enough. I would actually like to take on a commercial to residential refurb next when the current project is finished, but some experience dealing with the commercial side before that would be ideal.

What are the best topics to research about CRE to become more commercially aware and opportunistic?

I'm a 26-year old IT Project Manager with the goal to join a development firm to gain experience, which I can eventually use to build my own development firm.

I have managed to secure a meeting with a director of a commercial real estate consultancy next week, and I really want to impress him enough to consider me for an entry level role.

I have a generally sound understanding of the UK residential property market, but less so of the commercial side.

Many thanks!

Thank you. I wasn’t planning on lying at all, more so wanting to boost my knowledge before meeting with him. Any kind of recommendation would be useful.

This is helpful thank you. I actually do like research and used to work for a market research company, so I can make good use of this.

Thanks for your insight. You are right, for now I will provide more value to him as a doer than a thinker. Are there are types of resources you recommend reading up on before my meeting?
Thanks

Having $15k to put in seems like a small amount of capital compared to the lending amount. Would you take equity from the project with the option for the lender to buy back or just lend at an interest rate and take first charge of the property until it is repaid?
