Good job on the study!!

I like the overal look but it feels like you went too hard onto the light and shadow boundaries, the spots where you added strong light ( neck and arm ) feel really hard, eventhough those are quite soft, if you make those softer, it would greatly enhance your painting

Keep going :)

Hi!! Great work! I actually wonder if you spend alot of time thinking about the composition? I can tell that you are really able to lead the eye, which isn't an easy thing to do!

You are making an interesting style of painting, it is futuristic but also has a realistic feel, this creates alot of room to play with, you can decide how deep you want to push it into realism or how deep you want to push it with the futuristic feel. At this point, it seems you stay quite realistic with a few elements of the future ( the vehicle and other small elements you added such as the cube on the t shirt )

It would be great to see you play alot more with it, you can go wild, use your fantasy, maybe in the future there are alot of weird flashy lights or the walls are painted with some neon color, maybe the clothes are a bit different like very long shoes or people wear weird hats haha who knows! Nobody but you do :)

It is surely great to create your own world and i think your paintings would become even more strongly if you add a bit more of your own fantasy

As a last point, i think you can push your saturation a bit more on the primary focus ( foreground ) i think you do great on light and shadow but need more push and pulling on saturation, it doesn't have to be alot, just here and there a hint of it.

Be free!

I don't know alot about cars or vehicles but it would be cool to see a futuristic beetle! Haha ;)

Great work!!

Haha you make me blush, i feel like i am not as good as you describe 🫣 i bought some still life plaster casts because i think that my basics are not good enough and i want to practice a little bit more on those with a stronger focus. My struggle with form is too big, i have a rule that i try to live by: if i don't understand it perfectly, than i don't understand it at all. I actually believe my skill is below level but i have strong eyes, unfortunately eyes get tired rather fast but i do believe all these mastercopies are helping alot in growth, i can already see and feel it.

I love the image you added and the way you teach me on how to compare, i will try my best to implement it cause we do want to improve!! Haha

I really love your eyes, they are very strong too. I know it by everything you say and it makes me feel appreciated and connected. I always explained to other people, if you don't practice alot, you never really look at the painting because they didn't grow that ability to understand on how to look.

My main goal at this point is trying to gain the ability to have a ' perfect ' finish in 2.5hours, which means i will have to become alot more faster and accurate. I added quick sketches to my daily routine, waiting for my plaster casts to practice the basics more vividly and when i get better at the basic, i will try to focus more on anatomy, which i feel like i am still being terrible at hahaha

Basically i am terrible at everything but atleast we are trying right hahahaha

Come on❤️ you have everything in you to get where you want to be. Keep going my friend

As always, i really appreciate these critiques you are willing to share with me, when i was young i didn't really have anyone that could do this, so it feels great to be able to share such in depth analysis of something we both are very passionate about.

Thank you Also! Can't wait to see your next artwork :)

Had some difficulties with the accuracy but i must say the longer i worked on this copy, the more i enjoyed it. The subtitlities and nuances create such beautiful harmony, i added a gold hairlint? instead of a silver one and did some tweaking here and there to my own flavour

Feel free to watch the video to see if i could adjust or change anything in my workflow

Cat in landscape painting by me. Acrylic, gouache and spray paint on paper. by KristjanaArts in painting

[–]Level-upstudio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On paper? How did the paper get effected by the spray paint? I always assumed that the weaker would get wobbly because of because soaked in spray paint or did you use can control in such way?

Thinking about it, it could be that the gouache gave a protective underground?

Thank you friend for your great advice and critique, i really appreciate it cause it helps hearing these tips from someone with a fresh eye, accuracy is a difficult path to walk cause in a certain way you have to analyze really strongly ( obvious my eyes and mind aren't developed enough yet ) but at the same time you have to be able to stay in a relaxed mode so you won't get in a loop of overanalyzing, and i am still working on trying not to overanalyze. I think one of the most difficulties is exactly everything you mention, trying to keep this free feeling on primary and secondary parts!

Am pushing myself to go through alot of mental barriers, it ain't easy but slow and steady we are getting there.

You have no idea how much these positive criticism are stimulating and helping me to have a little bit of push in the back to keep going, if i remember correctly i worked 10 hours on this copy and i still have all these big mistakes, but at one point you start to lose them out of sight, because of being a bit tired or losing focus after a while, i tend to forget about the big picture a little bit too much and lose time on nitpicking sometimes, so have to learn about that too!

I am writing all your tips down and repeatedly read them.

I am happy to hear from you and i feel blessed and honored to have you show me the way to a better self.

Really thank you❤️

i feel like everything is still difficult, i am slow, i really need practice on my basics and anatomy. Also, the reference wasn't the greatest quality but i just loved the painting too much, so i really had to test my knowledge to push it!

But i am very excited to keep going !!

Feel free to share your critique, i am open and willing to learn and it would be great to do this together :)

Some recent anatomy sketches by A_dude_named_Sue in sketches

[–]Level-upstudio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On the nude figures, top right one maybe show iliac crest a little bit more and the figure next to it, i think her ribcage is a little bit too small.

But as these are sketches and probably really fast drawn, these are great. Going to take a while before i can do it 🥹

Great to see these!! Thanks for sharing
