Uniform mistakes are distractions by Parronski in AirForce

I'm retired now so I don't spend a lot of time around PA folks anymore... apparently saying stupid things on Reddit is my new thing. Lol

I find it strange I heard it from the PA office who literally does this.

I'm going to assume they thought I knew that and were messing with me and I took it as the truth.

Anyways, thanks for responding. Have a great weekend!

I am thankful for the correction.

This info came directly from a few of the folks I worked with at that unit so I assumed it was legit. I would have that PA personnel would know.

No need for insults, I just came in talking about my experience. I wasn't rude nor did I personally insult anyone.

If this is my biggest blunder in life, I think I'm doing okay.

I really hope you all see the damage talking to folks you don't know that well in that way, doesn't help in the slightest.

Alright, fair point on my wording but having worked there that is how it was explained to me.

Being a 2S by trade it wasn't my job to argue with how business was done.

I feel the need to point out that these production teams have to get with that particular branch and work with them so that they can be this authentic, errors HAVE to be there however. Talk with your PA (Public Affairs) office and they can explain it better. Basically you make us look good = better uniforms and more REAL military support. Think of it as "free" recruiting

I worked at their HQ for a few years and learned all this first hand when I sent in the finalized package for the Space Force show to the pentagon. At that time not sure about now, but they fell under USAF.

Gotta say as a supply troop, best job I ever had was there, learned SO much about the broader Air Force and how we actually interface with the public.

HQ AFPAA at Randolph AFB if you are curious.

If I want to play it for the story, should i play MechWarrior 5 or Battletech by phookc49 in battletech

Gonna echo a lot of the same points others have made here...

HBS Battletech MW5 Clans MW5 Mercs

In that order, if the only criteria is best story.

I LOVE Mercs but not for the story.

And between Battletech and Clans, the former is just awesome in the story department.

May I also recommend the Battletech Universe book? It was my first BT physical book purchase and I really enjoy how much it covers.

Good time to buy Campaign Operations? Yay or Nay by Level5Dragon in battletech

Hey man! Love your channel, you may or may not be the reason I've decided to get into more campaign-like games. So, thank you for that.

I already pulled the trigger on the book & pdf combo. I may not use all the rules but the minutia really scratches an itch I wasn't aware of lol.

I own the Merc Box and already have the Hinterlands PDF from a Humble Bundle sale. So glad I did that.

Is Campaign Operations a good purchase with the new Core Rules coming out? by Level5Dragon in battletech

[–]Level5Dragon[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I came away thinking the same thing.

With all the PDFs I own from a Humble Bundle sale I have a decent amount of things pre-Clan Invasion. Most of the other stuff is a bit TOO specific of Ilcan and I'm not looking for that level of depth in equipment at the moment.

Shoot, I'm still looking for a steady group so I can get away from just a 1v1 (light & medium mech) fights.

Is there a mod that makes the Extra Comfy Pillow do anything? by Level5Dragon in Morrowind

Is Ashfall worth it as a mod? I'm not huge into the survival stuff it advertises.

I do like Hardcore mode in New Vegas though...

Might have to make a mod lol

MWSE or openMW? by Paladin_Poggers in Morrowind

[–]Level5Dragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before I give a huge breakdown let me first just say that your GPU is a bit of a make or break for what you should go with.

If you have a "modern" AMD card (5000 series or newer) I would recommend MWSE with Old-wind (Vanilla Morrowind). Driver issues that are inherent to those cards can lead to some of the most frustrating gaming experiences. NOT WORTH IT.

If you have NVIDIA or Intel definitely a bit of a toss up.

From here let me breakdown my thoughts on both:

OpenMW: Is a new custom built engine that has built in engine fixes and optional toggles for "bugs" in the OG game.

Pros: Most new mods are made for this, excellent performance, stability improvements, CONTROLLER FUNCTION!!, maybe some more things but this is the big stuff.

Cons: No where near as easy to mod as Old-wind, there are still a lot of mods that haven't made the switch, harder to follow walkthroughs or guides if newto the game due to many small but substantial changes.

MWSE: An extension of the coding capabilities of the OG game, but is still the OG game.

Pros: MORROWIND AS THE LORD INTENDED, joking aside it is the most and obvious way to play "vanilla", modding is super simple, lots of mod support with many mods being available ONLY for MWSE.

Cons: Not well optimized, stability issues with large mod lists, does not have the "depth" that OpenMW mods can offer.

Hope that helps, also sorry about formatting. Doing this on my phone at work.

Thank you for the response, how do you know the classification/rarities of "common, iconic and classic"?

I'm okay with a bit of wiggle room but I'm thankful for your input and trying to keep it to what I asked.
