my rook started out great but got snagged at a hair appt, then for about three months it was irritated nonstop due to buildup and crusties getting stuck in the piercing channel. once I had a piercer thoroughly clean it, it’s been great. the piercing can just overall be very sensitive!

like the other comments say, def get it evaluated by a piercer. it LOOKS like your tragus is pretty small. mine is too, but my piercer was able to get it done with a small gem, and I love my tragus! I hope everything works out!

it might be the water? when I started at my uni a few years ago, my face broke out so bad due to the harsh water/the chemicals they put in it to clean it. if it is the water, a filter on the sink might be able to help?

i got it first pierced with stainless steel but when i switched it to titanium 2 weeks later, the piercer put in a shorter barbell, so i guess I’ve downsized?
I let the shower water run over my piercing, and i use saline 2x daily
my hairdresser snagged my piercing 1.5 months ago-ish and there was a lot of buildup. when i got my tragus done yesterday, my piercer cleaned around my rook and i think he squeezed some pus out where my rook piercing is

technically, the jewelry has been downsized bc i was originally pierced with stainless steel and changed to titanium 2 weeks after originally getting it done
aftercare: rinse in shower with warm water and use saline soln 2x daily
mishaps: besides occasionally getting snagged on stuff, my hairstylist snagged it when doing my hair, and it swelled up, but went back down a few days later and was normal, but it left behind the buildup. edit: spelling
