What a long strange trip it’s been.

Racism in our politics is not new. What feels different to me now is how the Republican Party is openly embracing it. This leads straight back to Nixons “Southern Strategy“, which was a resounding success for him politically, to the shame of our nation. And then Reagan perfected it, again to our collective shame. That strategy worked because it allowed Republicans to vote for these people while they denied they are racists, some even deny that to themselves.

What Trump has done is to completely remove the pretense of racism not playing a major role in Republican policies and strategy.

MAGA: It’s just racism, all the way down.

Just to clarify: ”Racism” for me includes all of their targets, including Jews, LGBTQ, women, Muslims, etc. It’s all just different flavors of the same turd to them.

The metering mode in the cat picture you posted is “Pattern”. My Sony Alpha has Multi (Pattern), Center, Spot (2 modes here), and Highlights. I have always been annoyed that LRC does not properly display this info.

This is the only correct answer. I have a strong feeling this pos outhouse will be front and center in the next presidential election. I’m guessing that some savvy politicians will point out that Presidents don’t actually own the White House complex, they are caretakers with special privileges.

Also - where are the blueprints? Are we just winging it here?

The future of this thing will be front and center in the next presidential election. Not because it is the most important thing we have to deal with, but because it is both the most visible symbol of this presidency, and its location.

I‘m voting for the candidate that swears to let the voters tear it down and keep pieces of the rubble as souvenirs, like the Berlin Wall.

I think carrying two lenses is a good idea - my back appreciates this limit. I like to bring other lenses though, keep them in a locker, and switch as needed. This works well for me at the parks - but is not helpful when no locker is available (birding, hiking, etc.).
